Shahrukh Khan talks about the pains he endured!

his box office clout unbeatable and comparable only to the other two Khans, Aamir Khan and Salman Khan (especially after DABANGG).

Last year fans were treated to just one SRK film, MY NAME IS KHAN, and after flooring the critics and his fans, as well as the discerning audience with a superlative heart felt performance in MNIK, Shahrukh disappeared from the big and small screen, although he made appearances in various ads.
However, it was not a long overdue vacation or holiday that he owed his family or something alike that kept him away from the lime light, but it was health concerns that forced him to take a long break.

Shahrukh talked about his shoulder injury and the surgery and said that he had to stay at home and recoup after that. Talking about his pains he said that he had almost no rest for about three months as he could not even sleep peacefully. In fact, he had to sit and sleep and could not even perform a day-to-day task like taking a bath due to the extreme pain that he felt due to his injury.

SRK explained that following his surgery he was forced to take a long break to recuperate during which he spent almost four to five hours everyday in physiotherapy. He also disclosed that although it took a lot of time for pain to ease and wounds to heal yet he now feels healthy and fit.

Well, that certainly is what heroes are made of; they know how to fight against all odds and come out with flying colours and SRK is indeed a superhero in real life too and an inspiration for all!

SRK opens gym to friend

The actors that workout together stay together is the new mantra in Bollywood. Sanjay Dutt was one of the first superstars to let all the young boys who entered films workout in his gymnasium.

Uday Chopra and Hrithik Roshan exercised together for the longest time. Now, it is Shah Rukh Khan's gym at Mannat that is the latest hangout for those who are serious about their fitness. Boman Irani travels all the way from South Mumbai to use SRK's gym.

And so do a couple of other actors. The nice thing is, even when SRK is travelling around the world, Mannat has instructions to allow the Bollywood Badshah's gym mates to use his fitness machines.

Vishwajeet's SRK link

We all know that superstar Shah Rukh Khan began his career with the TV serial Fauji, but what many aren't aware of is that Vishwajeet Pradhan, who plays Brahma in Star Plus' Maryada Lekin Kab Tak, also got a break in the industry with Fauji where he played Shah Rukh's friend.

The duo later became friends in real life and Vishwajeet also did films like Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani and Chalte Chalte with SRK. "But we never let our friendship get into work. Director Aziz Mirza found me worthy of the characters and offered me the role. But I'll always be glad for knowing a person like Shah Rukh. He is one man who hasn't changed at all," says Vishwajeet.

Talking about his acting career which includes a good 150 films, he says, "Being from a small town my parents wanted me to become an IAS officer but being an actor I lived the life of everyone. I've been a cop, a hardliner politician, a magician, a watchman, a don, a smuggler, an officer all in one life!

I never got a lead role and I make no bones about it. But I've experienced career satisfaction in playing character roles. Like recently, I had a policeman praise me for looking a better cop on screen than they do in reality!"

SRK, Ash at Filmfare Nominations Party

Usually it's the winners who party hard to celebrate their success, but this do had the nominees for Filmfare Awards 2010 dancing the night away at the JW Marriott.

The event also saw a dazzling fashion show titled 'Giantti presents Manish Malhotra' that had a Cinema Paradiso feel celebrating evolving fashion and the signature styles of the years gone by with over 35 models walking the ramp. The models sashayed down the ramp in beautiful Giantti Jewellery. Gitanjali Lifestyle is the Associate and jewellery partner of Filmfare Awards.

Manish also dressed Aditya Roy Kapoor and Sara Jane Dias — the hosts for the night! After the fashion show it was time for total masti as our actors did not only indulge in posing for cameras, but also whipped out their cellphones to take pics of their good-looking colleagues. Imran Khan, Manoj Bajpayee, Ronit Roy, Rajat Barmecha, Arbaaz Khan, Abhinav Kashyap, Arjan Bajwa, Kunal Khemu and Neil Nitin Mukesh formed the male brigade, while Sameera Reddy and Prachi Desai added much glitz to the already glamourous night.

Ink of mystery in SRK tattoo

Has Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan decided to express his love for a certain someone with the letter ' D' engraved on his right arm? Or maybe his act of getting inked is just a promotion stunt for his upcoming biggie Don 2.

The mystery surrounding his ' D' tattoo is still unsolved.

However, it's not news that tattoos have been a rage with B- town celebrities for quite some time now.

Whether it is actors like Deepika Padukone or Saif Ali Khan, who have sketched their bodies with their lovers' initials or name, or be it Akshay Kumar and Arjun Rampal, who have their kid's names stamped on themselves, the tattoo fever has now got on to King Khan.

Though the actor has not confirmed if the tattoo is a permanent one or not, he was spotted at several events, flaunting his new tattoo.

However, we know that it's not a Shah Rukh Khan thing to adorn tattoos and prove something to the world.

The actor, in the past, has uploaded photos of his fully- tattooed body, but they turned out to be temporary tattoos to please his kids.

However, the ongoing speculation about his ' D' tattoo hasn't got a clear confirmation and we're still guessing what led to the superstar getting inked.

Well, the reasons may be many. It can be his new stunt for promoting Don 2 or simply, a pure obsession with his favourite city Dubai.

Whatever the reason, we all can only hope that the Baadshah of Bollywood is not promoting the home furnishing brand D'Decor, which is endorsed by him and wife, Gauri Khan.

RA.ONE to feature some themes by The Prodigy

RA.ONE to feature some themes by The Prodigy

Abid, Glamsham Editorial
Send to Friend

Shahrukh Khan's Anubhav Sinha directed RA.ONE has been in the news
from the day of its announcement. The music of the film has especially
been in the limelight for different reasons. First it was due to the
presence of singer Akon and later on it was heard that Hans Zimmer
(THE DARK KNIGHT) would be doing the background score, a news which
was contradicted by the makers when we asked them. They told us that
Vishal and Shekhar are doing the background score.

The latest buzz doing the rounds is that it will now be the
International band The Prodigy (of 'Smack my bitch up' fame)
collaborating with the RA.ONE composers Vishal and Shekhar for the
background score. To get the facts we contacted the people at the helm
of affairs and they told us that The Prodigy would indeed be a part of
RA.ONE and the film will feature some themes by them.

As is known The Prodigy are touring India and hopefully we will soon
be hearing about the above mentioned news, officially.

Shahrukh Khan, Farhan Akhtar: ‘Don 2′ Bigger And Better In International Market

Shahrukh Khan in Don 2 will see him leading a flamboyant lifestyle to make it at par with international cinema. The movie which was shot almost for an entire month in Berlin is full of class action sequences which have never before been seen in any Bollywood churn out.

Film maker Farhan Akhtar's movie Don 2 is all set to make a distinct mark for itself in the international market as much or in fact bigger and better than it is going to be in the national market.

First and foremost the sequel of Don, that is Don 2 will have Shahrukh in the Don's garb trying to capture the entire European market rather than spread his wings in crime only in India, as was the case in Don.

Now in Don2 SRK will be projected as a European crime lord with all amenities of an international kingpin. Thus Don 2 will have this crime lord fooling the police all over the world rather than just in 11 countries. Reports suggest that this movie has all the necessary steps taken to see that no leaf has been left unturned in investing on the lavish lifestyle of the crime lord and as a result the budget strings have crossed boundaries set up by any Bollywood film based on international crime.

Now reports pouring in also suggest that there are plans to put forth an international version for the NRI audiences and also foreign audiences for whom the songs will have to be done away with and the dialogues to be kept short.

Further it is being stated that Don 2 will be made as slick as any international flick and thus Tom Cruise's MI4 can face some stiff competition from this very big Bollywood blockbuster Don 2.

Shah Rukh Khan – Farah Khan: The King size make-up in public

Farah Khan might say it in public that nothing was wrong between her and Shah Rukh Khan and all the buzz were just made by the media. But on the night of Apsara Award, the two were seen giving warm hugs to each other and Farah joining SRK in his van.

According to the sources, at the Star Screen Awards, in spite of SRK and Farah meeting at the backstage the old friendship was not in the display. It was also said that Shah Rukh did invite Farah to join him in his van but the director and choreogrpaher chose to stay away. But at the Apsara Awards, since the vanity fans of these two former friends were parked side by side Farah had no other choice but join Shah Rukh when his spotboy called her.

It is already a known fact the SRK publicly apologized to Farah and Salman in 'Koffee with Karan'. So is this patch-up the after effect of apology, we do not know. However, while Salman Khan is not ready to forgive SRK, on the other hnad Farah is happy to share her family photsos with the King Khan.

Later on when the media quizzed the 'Tees Maar Khan' director about the hug and the make-up with SRK, Farah said that the hug was not for the meida as they were not aware of the photographers. At the same breath she said the she did not talk about making films with Shah Rukh instead talked about their kids, when asked whther she will work with the superstar again.

It seems Shah Rukh has mend a bridge already this year that he started out doing the last year and we hope that SRK and Salman can patch things up too.

SRK's Don 2 Vs Tom Cruise's Misson Impossible

It's not just with his home production Ra.1 that Shah Rukh Khan is looking towards capturing the international market in 2011. With Farhan Akhtar's Don 2 too Shah Rukh goes gloriously global.

And Shah Rukh will be taking on Tom Cruise,no less, with Don 2. The two action-oriented super-slick films on global crime and punishment release globally within a week of one another in December. Hush-hush plans are on to put together an international version of Farhan's ferocious furious and flamboyant flick so that Shah Rukh's Don 2 can come face to face with Tom Cruise's Mission Impossible4, which incidentally features Anil Kapoor in a cameo.

And to prove how global in execution Don 2 is, here's the thing. A car chase sequence featuring Shah Rukh shot in Berlin last month was so steep and dangerous it damaged one of the expensive cameras that had been recruited to capture the heart-in-the-mouth stunt.Luckily no one was hurt.

According to a source from the film the Don's character in Don 2: The Chase Continues has gone international with his criminal amibitions. "While in the first part, Don wanted to take over the crime syndicate in India in Don 2 the Don wants to capture the entire European market.Shah Rukh's character is no longer an Indian crimelord wanted in 11 countries. He is portrayed as a European gangster, replete with all the trappings of an international kingpin."

The magnitude of the character's power and the external trappings of his prosperity have been captured in Don 2 by deploying a budget that leaves behind all other Indian films on international crime.

To play the European kingpin Farhan Akhtar and Shah Rukh apparently studied the lives and lifestyles of various international crimelords.

Says a source, "It was one thing for Shah Rukh to portray the the Indian don wanted in 11 countries. In Don 2 his character wants to rule Europe. Shah Rukh's clothes, cars, girls, gadgets, body language and perfume had to convey a global aura."

Sources say Don 2 is being assembled on an international scale. And there would probably be a full-scale international version of the film for an NRI global market with the songs eliminated and the drama reduced.

Veteran actor Om Puri who reprises his role of the police inspector from the first part admits everything in Don 2 is upscaled. "I can't tell you the plot. But I will reveal one thing. In a lift together, just when my character tells Priyanka Chopra he is going to retire , the lift door opens and my character stands face to face with Don. That's when my dreams of leaving the police force ends and the chase begins."

Om says most of his scenes in Don 2 are with Priyanka. "Mine is not a lengthy role. But it's an important role. I wasn't part of the chase sequence that you mention. But yes it was unlike anything seen in Hindi films. And yes a camera did get damaged. But no one got hurt."

The actor is all praise for Farhan Akhtar and his unit. "Unlike other Bollywood locations on a foreign location the stars and the crew were not put up in separate hotels. All of us including the technical crew and junior artistes stayed in the same hotel in Berlin, though the unit members unlike the stars had to share rooms. I've hardly ever worked with a more professional efficient and hospitable unit. Every detail in Berlin was looked into in advance and there were no last-minute glitches. The entire schedule of about a month went off smoothly."

SRK’s jet-setting way

Talking of a recent award ceremony in Singapore, Sher Lock bhai wants me to listen to some tidbits about Shah Rukh Khan. Seems the actor was so busy that he flew in and out of the country in less than 24 hours. My super sleuth tells me that SRK landed in Singapore from Mumbai atabout 4am and after resting for a couple of hours, he went to rehearse his act for the award ceremony.

After performing to a medley of his songs in the evening, the actor flew out of the city by midnight. Kyun? Kyunki I'm told that he's expected to reach Argentina, where his game show Zor Ka Jhatka is being shot. Apparently, a media brigade has been flown there to meet Khan. SRK's jet-setting ways is giving me a jetlag now. Must ask him the secret of his unending energy the next time I meet him. Hai na?

Shah Rukh Khan: An audience with the King

What makes Shah Rukh Khan such a huge Bollywood star?

In the burgeoning Bollywood film industry, there are stars that are just as handsome as Khan.

There are other actors who are taller and more muscular than he is.

There are also a few who are just as charismatic and give riveting performances on the screen.

Yet, save for Bollywood cinema legend Amitabh Bachchan, few can match Khan, in terms of popularity.

I found out first hand what sets Khan apart from other Bollywood stars when he made a surprise appearance last Friday at a press briefing, hours before the Zee Cine Awards 2011 at Marina Bay Sands in which he was slated to perform.

The reason for his popularity is clear, he is simply a genuinely likable guy and a natural born joker.

King of the Hill or Court Jester?

The roomful of journalists instantly became excited as 'King Khan' breezed into the room, decked out in a pair of torn jeans and a dark blue shirt, his eyes hidden behind a pair of aviator shades.

Cameramen and photographers silently leapfrogged forward as they each tried to get closer for a better shot of the veteran actor-director/producer.

Khan introduced himself and gingerly sat himself down on the couch before taking questions from the press and almost immediately began dispensing wisecracks.

A reporter asked him about his visits to Singapore and he replied that he actually dropped by weeks earlier for an event and enjoyed the hotel's facilities.

"They very sweetly allowed me to go down to the nightclub even though I was underage," deadpanned the 45-year-old Khan as his audience broke out in laughter.

Khan may be a superstar but he was not above some toilet humour.

"The toilet seats deserve special mention. I have never seen toilet seats like that. The toilet [seats], they open on their own. It is like there is a little gremlin inside who opens it for you," said Khan as he mimicked the 'toilet gremlin'.

"It's fantastic! Just for that I will keep coming back here!"

It took a few moments for the laughter to die down but Khan brought it back minutes later.

This time, it was his response to a question about being a cultural ambassador for India that tickled the funny bones of the gathered reporters.

"My wife (movie producer Gauri Chibber) often tells me I'm very uncultured and ill disciplined so I don't know if I am the right person to be the ambassador of culture for my country," he replied, sporting a wry grin on his face.

"I would like to believe that I will be the ambassador of bringing smiles and happiness to different parts of the world through our cinema."

Parting shot

Towards the end of the conference, Khan launched into the customary spiel about all that is good about Singapore and expressed it is a good place for Indians to send their kids to school to "learn about the modern world".

However, he was interrupted by a shout from the audience.

"Would you send your children here?"

Khan paused to contemplate the question before deflecting it with humour.

"Both my kids (Aryan, 13 and Suhana, 10) are [already] studying. I will make some [children] specially for schools in Singapore.

"I'll give you my wife's number. Give her a call later. 'Let's do some children. We need to have them study in Singapore!'" joked Khan, shaking his fist while wearing a look of mock determination.

The function room reverberated with laughter and then applause as Khan thanked his audience and posed for pictures before waving goodbye and disappearing out the door.

January 16, 2011, (Sawf News) - Shah Rukh Khan, till recently a regular Twitter user who readily shared his inner thoughts with fans, quit the social networking site after his son read some abusive tweets directed at Shah Rukh.

Shah Rukh says the abusive tweets wouldn't have bothered him but for the fact that he now has children and employees that look up to him.

"I have two kids who are growing up very fast. They look up to me. I have my employees who also look up to me," he says.

Speaking to the press during a break between rehearsals for the Zee Cine Awards in Singapore [via DNA], Shah Rukh explained that he took to Twitter at the suggestion of pal Karan Johar.

"But then something happened recently, which broke my heart. I was left wondering as to why I was being subjected to all this," he said.

"Everybody's entitled to freedom of speech but posting gaalis and abusive words is another matter. I certainly don't deserve it. My son (Aryan) came to know about one such case and asked me, 'Dad, who are these people? Why on earth should they talk to you like that?' That's when I decided to take a break from it.

After a break, Shah Rukh tried to resume his Twitter interactions, but the faceless abusers quickly returned.

"When something bad is written about me, at least I know who's behind it,but these (on Twitter) are faceless and nameless people. They are just getting a kick by giving gaalis to Shah Rukh Khan, I'm bewildered by all this," he says.

‘No one offered me a game show’

I love anchoring game shows of all kinds," says actor-anchor Shah Rukh Khan, less than a month before his celebrity-driven reality show Zor Ka Jhatka hits airwaves. "No one offered me a game show after Kya Aap Panchvi Paas Se Tez Hain (Star Plus). That and Kaun Banega Crorepati were two of the biggest quiz shows on TV. I think quiz shows do very well in our country. And I love quizzing. It's the most interesting exercise that most fathers across the world indulge in."

On family
The actor admits that his school-going kids Aryan and Suhana also enjoy quiz games as much as he does. "My wife Gauri also likes such shows because they have a pan-family appeal; they have humour packed with some serious knowledge tests. I think every household has a quizmaster, the father. It's daddies who do it more often at home than mothers," smiles Khan, who admits Amitabh Bachchan is India's finest quizmaster.

SRK"No one can conduct a game show better than he does on national TV. His style, his control over the game, and his approach towards the contestants sets him notches above all of us. We've all followed him in movies and then, on TV and will continue to follow him wherever he goes," says Khan.

Shooting schedule
The shooting schedule of Zor Ka Jhatka is expected to wrap up over the next few days. However, given his tight shooting and travel schedule, the desi WipeOut anchor may not be able to make it to the location which has been used for the 22 seasons of the show across countries before this one. Around the time of going to press, the actor was in Singapore for Zee Cine Awards where he performed to a rocking mix of numbers.

"I've watched a few episodes of the original WipeOut show. It's a lot of fun and is full of crazy energy. It reminded me of a German game show, Telematch. As a kid, I loved watching it. People would make fools of themselves, but in a feel good way," recalls Khan.

When asked about the obvious comparison with other celebrity anchors like Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar, the latter more than the former since he's associated with action, Khan states that he doesn't like being compared. "Aren't all the shows similar? They all put a contestant in a situation and his reactions become entertainment, whether it's a private question as in Sach Ka Saamna or a scary mix of events as in a Khatron Ke Khiladi," argues Khan. "I'm always compared, it's sad. But now, it doesn't bother me."

Twitter broke my heart: Shah Rukh Khan

When actor Shah Rukh Khan made his entry into the world of Twitter, it became a talking point in the glam world. The regular postings by the actor too made it to the headlines. But before the year came to a close, his posts stopped, making everyone wonder why. Well, here it is: King Khan is still reeling from the aftershock of abuses he received online.

"I registered on Twitter because Karan (Johar) suggested it to me. I thought that it would be fun interacting with all my fans directly. But then something happened recently, which broke my heart. I was left wondering as to why I was being subjected to all this," says the actor while taking a break between his rehearsals at the venue of the Zee Cine Awards in Singapore.

Elaborating further, the actor says that some of his followers posted a few nasty gaalis on his page. Recently, when I posted something on Ra.One, the abusive postings reappeared again. When something bad is written about me, at least I know who's behind it,but these (on Twitter) are faceless and nameless people. They are just getting a kick by giving gaalis to Shah Rukh Khan, I'm bewildered by all this," he says candidly.

These incidents, says SRK, has forced him to re-think his outlook towards life. "Earlier, I never bothered about such things. But today I have two kids who are growing up very fast. They look up to me. I have my employees who also look up to me. What was nothing to me in the past is something in the present. Something's changing within me as my kids and I get older at the same time. I think I'm becoming reclusive as I grow older. I feel the need to cut myself off from negative energies," he ends.

Kulraj Randhawa wants to be next SRK

Actress Kulraj Randhawa, who is making a transition from small screen to the celluloid with 'Yamla, Pagla, Deewana', wants to make it as big as superstar Shah Rukh Khan.

The actress says like SRK, who also started his career from TV shows like 'Fauzi' and 'Circus', she plans to play a long innings in the film industry.

"Yamla, Pagla, Deewana' is a perfect launchpad for me. I don't idolise much but Shah Rukh Khan is really hard working and made it big despite being from a non-filmy background. I feel I can make it big like him," the Punjabi beauty said.

Randhawa who became a household name when she starred in Zee TV's Kareena Kareena in 2003, believes that the movie, starring Deol family-- Dharmendra, Sunny and Bobby-- is perfect for her entry in Bollywood.

"I wanted to get everything right. I think it has been worth a wait. Yamla Pagla Deewana is a perfect launchpad, a complete Bollywood masala. It is a film for all tastes," said the 27-year-old star.

KING of Bollywood Shah Rukh Khan was yesterday named Best Actor at the Zee Cine Awards in front of a sell-out crowd comprising fans and the who's who of the Indian film industry at the Marina Bay Sands marquee ballroom.

The awards ceremony, arguably Bollywood's Oscars, drew other top stars such as Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone, Hrithik Roshan, Ranbir Kapoor, Arjun Rampal and film-maker Karan Johar.

Hosted by comic actor Akshay Kumar and director Sajid Khan, the three-hour-plus ceremony saw several stars dance to the tune of popular film songs.

Rai Bachchan set the stage alight with her nimble-footed moves, while Chopra introduced the nominees in the Best Film category as she danced impeccably to a medley of songs.

First held in Mumbai in 1995, the event celebrates the best in Indian cinema and gave out awards in more than 30 categories last night.

Superstar Khan picked up the best actor award for his endearing portrayal of Rizvan Khan, a Muslim who suffers from a form of autism known as Asperger's syndrome, in My Name Is Khan.

"My Name is Khan" dominates first Bollywood awards

An Indian film about a Muslim man's travails in the United States dominated Bollywood's first major awards of the year, picking up both best director and best actor titles.

The Zee Cine Awards were held in Singapore, and most of the Indian Hindi film industry's top stars flew in for the event at the Marina Bay Sands resort, which dominates the city-state's skyline.

"My Name is Khan," a sentimental movie about an autistic Muslim man who lives in the United States, won awards for director Karan Johar and lead actor Shahrukh Khan.

The Best Film award went to "Dabangg," an action-packed romance about a policeman who does very little by the book.

The best female actor was Vidya Balan for her role in "Ishqiya," in which she plays a widow who is romanced by two con-men.

Besides awards, what else happened?

This is our favourite celebrity candid photo of the day! SRK with his phones. He doesn't look too happy now, does he. Who's message would he be reading?

Did SRK really throw a party to 'celebrate' the flop show of TMK? We can't confirm but it looks like Farah Khan doesn't really care as she takes SRK's helping hand.
