Shah Rukh praises Salman and Aamir

Shah Rukh was at his garrulous best at an event organised by Indian Express, "Express Adda". He was all praises for Salman and Aamir when he was quizzed by journos about them. SRK called the other two actors his senior. He called all three of them, including himself, "the triumvirate".

The three stars have always been pitted against one another other. In fact, Salman and Shah Rukh were once very good friends. However things are different now and they do not see eye to eye.

During the event Shah Rukh's genuine admiration for both Salman and Aamir was obvious when he spoke to the news persons. He says he is fascinated with any actor who does well. According to Hindustan Times speaking of Salman and Aamir's achievement, Shah Rukh Khan said that people should sit back and just appreciate their wonderful work. (http://bit.ly/pKMId0)

He also hinted at the soured relation between him and Salman and said that people expect them not to appreciate each other just because their relationship has seen some changes. But he rubbishes such notion and says that was not the case between them. Shah Rukh went on to say that they were as friendly as they could be. And at times very close. He revealed that the trio shared some really good moments and that they used to go for drives.

He even tried to explain the reason of friction between them and said that at times a lot of proximity, closeness brings about too much familiarity and people tend to step on each other's toes.

Shah Rukh is on a marathon promotional spree for his up-coming movie Ra.One. He said that he wants his movies to do good as much Salman's and Aamir's movie. He says that he looks up to the movies made by the two super stars.

We find too much sweetness is all that SRK spoke and hope the taste transfers to the other Khans as well.

The finale of Hrithik Roshan’s Just Dance was a star-studded affair! King Khan Shahrukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone were spotted at the finale.

And, it looks like Shahrukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra and Hrithik Roshan share an extremely healthy relationship with each other! They were snapped while laughing, dancing and sharing jokes on the sets of Just Dance and, hence, have given some animated pics to the cameramen.

The other two judges of the show, Vaibhavi Merchant and Farah Khan were also snapped by the shutterbugs.

Interestingly, SRK was captured while pointing a gun towards Farah Khan!

Oh, and yes, Hrithik Roshan’s father Rakesh Roshan and wife Sussanne Roshan also attended the grand finale!

You just cannot miss this one! Have a look at the images here:

Shahrukh Khan loses his reading glasses and shades

If there is any man in Bollywood who can have you in hysterics anytime and everytime with his sense of humour and wittiness, it has to be Shahrukh Khan! Though SRK has been tired, and busy as a beaver coz of the Ra.One promotions, King Khan’s sharp humour is still afresh!

Shahrukh Khan, who lost his reading glasses, tweeted: “google gadget launch was fun. lost my reading glasses & shades. so i now i have an excuse to be fully nocturnal....g.one has become batman.”

And if you loved the G.One and Batman joke, the other one is going to crack you up even more, and will make all his female fans go awww… “shot advt for pepsodent in Einstein & sardarji get up.sticky glue still on my cheeks. so if anyone kisses me they will remain stuck to me.”

Shahrukh, you once joked at an event saying that the name of your reel superhero avatar is G.One because your wife’s name is Gauri and number One is your status in the industry! But, we believe G.One suits you in real life, too, where G stands for Gagman.

Gagman number One!

Shahrukh Khan to promote ‘RA.One’ with Google Plus

The new tie-up intends to boost Facebook’s rival social networking site and the superhero film

Shahrukh Khan is a brand ambassador – yet again. And the latest firm to sign him up is internet giant Google. King Khan has agreed to promote its new social networking site, Google Plus along with his upcoming film RA.One. As part of the tie-up, Shahrukh will join Google Plus and participate in a live chat on the site, using the Hangouts feature over the next couple of weeks. On its part, Google will promote RA.One through not only Google Plus but also through YouTube – with behind the scenes videos, streaming of the premiere and other events across the globe, and various contests. In fact, a first-of-its-kind video about RA.One is already up on YouTube. Shahrukh is reportedly very excited about getting a chance to create a platform where his fans from all over the world can engage with his film. But whether Shahrukh’s charisma is enough to convince even a part of his mega fan following into becoming Google Plus users – so that the Internet giant can defeat Facebook – remains to be seen.

Shah Rukh, Farah Khan face-off on television reality show?

They might have kissed and made up after their friendship went sour but is Shah Rukh Khan and Farah Khan the best buddies like they used
to be? It will be interesting to see them coming face to face in the grand finale of Just Dance. The dance reality show where Farah Khan is
one of the judges.

The finale will see hoards of filmy stars descending on the dance floor. But now the latest addition to the star studded event is the name of baadshah Khan. Speaking to Emirates 24|7, Pooja Kumbhare, the Assistant Manager of Marketing and Communications of Star India said, "Shah Rukh Khan's inclusion is a last moment thing. He will definitely drop by for a shoot."

So a face-off is on the cards. The two Khans meet on small screen after their spate. No we are not expecting sparks of any kind flying but it will be a fascinating watch.

Hrithik Roshan, the star judge of the show has invited Shah Rukh Khan to grace the occasion. After much thought SRK has finally decided to drop by on the finale of Just Dance. This show is Hrithik's debut on small screen and he is putting all force to see that the event is a mega hit.

I'm sorry, says SRK for latecoming

Mumbai: He may be the Bollywood Badshah, but Shah Rukh Khan's latecoming at events has always got a thumbs down from the media. The 45-year-old is trying to make amends, he has apologised and promised henceforth to pre-inform organisers as well as the media about his delays.

In the past, Shah Rukh has been late for several events and at an event in New Delhi, he came four hours late. The superstar has continued his latecoming habit while promoting his forthcoming mega-budget superhero film 'RA.One' as well.

At a recent event to announce his collaboration with You Tube for 'RA.One', he reached three hours late, and, for a Nokia event in Mumbai Wednesday, he made the media wait for over two-and-a-half hour before turning up.

When asked if he would ever come on time, Shah Rukh said, "No! Actually I would like to, but you know what happens...I am right now in the middle of a lot of work. So I slept at 11 in the morning and I need to sleep a couple of hours. So I really apologise...Mujhe maaf kardo (Please forgive me)."

Media persons were quite blunt in their request to the actor to inform them of his delays through the event organisers in future, so that they do not waste their time waiting for him.

"I am extremely sorry..I apologise for being late and next time I will make sure the information is passed on to everyone. I think it deserves an apology first. So I say sorry, and I'll make sure the information is reached out to everyone next time," he added.

Setting new standards to leverage the digital experience for Bollywood fans, YouTube has come up with a first-of-its-kind Bollywood movie channel: www.youtube.com/raonemovie.

Apart from being a one-stop powerful platform to engage fans across the globe, this custom built destination would enable movie buffs to view Shah Rukh Khan's exclusive pictures, thoughts on " Ra.One", behind the scene shots and also uncut footage of the star cast.

In addition to this interesting content, this film's premiere and Red Carpet events planned in London will be telecasted live on YouTube. Adding to the premium inventory, the new film gadget is also something to watch out for. This gadget is an interesting representation of the movie's hi-end graphics and special effects.

Interestingly, SRK is the first Indian celebrity with a verified page on Google+, which is a rapidly growing social platform today. Shah Rukh will conduct regular hangouts/video chats, to engage with his fans. In order to offer a complete package of Bollywood through digital media, a comic on "Ra.One" and an online G.One social game is also coming up.

No Rajinikanth in Ra.One

No Rajinikanth in Ra.One

There are speculations that Super Star Rajinikanth is donning a guest role in Bollywood Baadshah Shahrukh Khan’s highly anticipated movie Ra.One. But, according to our Chennai sources, the super Star is not doing any film right now and his next film Rana will only commence its shoot in November.

It is heard that Rajini is taking rest still and is in no hurry to complete Rana or not doing any guest role as his health is not allowing him to do so. This news comes as a huge setback to the distributors who acquired the rights of Ra.One for astronomical price by assuming huge collections on Rajini’s name.

Ra.One is releasing on October 26 as Diwali gift in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil simultaneously in both 2D and 3D formats.

Rajinikanth appear as guest in Shahrukh Khan’s Ra.One

Rajinikanth appear as guest in Shahrukh Khan’s Ra.One

Earlier it was said that Rajinikanth will play a lead role in Shahrukh Khan’s Ra.One. Superstar Rajinikanth, who was supposed to do a sparkling cameo in Shahrukh Khan's Ra.One, is unlikely to do the guest appearance. The makers of the film, who had got the Rajinikanth’s approval, have failed to use his date for the shooting.

Anubhav Sinha director of Ra.One, said that they wanted to shoot Rajinikanth's portion but the fact is that they have not filmed it yet. The deadline for the release (October 26) has left them with limited time to shoot his portion. Hence, if they want to shoot, it should happen in a few days time, claim the filmmaker.

Rajininkanth was supposed to do the sequence, where he should enter the scene with his famous dialogue ‘Naan oru thadava sonna, nooru thadava sonna madhiri’.However, Shahrukh Khan's Ra.One is releasing worldwide in many languages including Tamil on October 26.

Rajinikanth may not do Shahrukh Khan’s Ra.One

Rajinikanth may not do Shahrukh Khan’s Ra.One

There were rumours that Rajnikanth will do a cameo in Ra One starring Shahrukh. There were great hype and expectations among Rajni fans.

But the latest we hear is that the Super Star may not be doing the cameo. Sources say that he is recovering from his ill health slowly. And his family members want him to take some rest before commencing his ambitious project Rana.

Rana is his top-priority. He won't risk himself by doing Ra.One now. By November, he would be fit and fine and resume Rana, sources say.

All work and no play seems to be Shah Rukh Khan's new mantra.

The actor has dedicated most, if not all of his time to his ambitious project, RA. One. Reportedly, SRK, who was supposed to host a party for Paris like he does for all other international celebrities, decided that work was more important than socialising. However, even then, the actor did not forget his promise to his good friend Yogesh Lakhani, the owner of a major outdoor advertising company.

A source informed us that SRK had promised Yogesh that he would attend his birthday bash at a suburban five-star hotel. Even though the actor was caught up in meetings and was unable to make it by midnight, he still paid a visit at 3:30 am.

When contacted, Lakhani said, "SRK had promised me that he would come in by midnight. He was delayed due to an urgent meeting, but he still came in around 3.30 am. I did not cut the cake till he arrived." SRK, however, remained unavailable for comment.

I'm no marketing guru: Shah Rukh Khan

Mumbai: Shah Rukh Khan is neck deep into the promotion of his upcoming mega-budget sci-fi movie 'RA.One'. He is appearing on TV shows, collaborating with various brands and using other marketing tools to promote his superhero movie, but the superstar refuses to be labelled a "marketing guru".

"These terms are all nonsensical things. Every actor talks about his films. I'm here since so many years. I also do things when my film is about to release, but I'm no marketing guru," Shah Rukh told reporters here Monday on the sidelines of an event to announce the collaboration between You Tube and 'RA.One'.

"You need to be innovative when you reach out to people, so that more and more people can be aware about your film and that's what I'm doing," he added.

The star superstar refuses to be labelled a marketing guru.

Shah Rukh may not like to be called a marketing guru, but in Bollywood, SRK and Aamir Khan are known to market their films in "zara hatke" manner and for introducing novel ways of promoting movies - so much so that others have started taking the same path.

'RA.One', slated for an Oct 26 release, has been directed by Anubhav Sinha and also stars Kareena Kapoor.

Shah Rukh is a man with affable manners, who treats his fans with politeness, who is patient when dealing with the media and last but not the least, his wit and humour are his forte, but he revealed that while shooting for "RA.One", he got so angry that he threw a chair at the wall.

"There was a day when I got very angry. I was hanging from the cable for a very long time, I wanted to go to the bathroom and people were disorganised. I was very tired too. So when I got down I threw a chair on the wall in anger, but it was a plastic chair.

"I told them that why is everyone just treating me like a producer, I'm a superstar, they can't make me hang for two hours," he said.

Bonding with co-stars works for romantic film: SRK

New Delhi: Be it Juhi Chawla, Kajol, Priyanka Chopra or Kareena Kapoor - Shah Rukh Khan has shared beautiful onscreen chemistry with most of his co-stars and the Bollywood superstar says the secret lies in his bonding with his co-stars.

"People think that I am working for so many years, so may be I am used to working with every co-actor. I have so much respect for my co-actresses that I really enjoy working with them. Also, as 99 percent of my films are romantic, you need a lot of bonding, a lot of sharing with each other, this brings out the goodness of scenes we produce," Shah Rukh said at a Geetanjali event here.

The 45-year-old, known as a perfect on-screen lover, has appeared in romantic sagas like "Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge", "Dil To Pagal Hai", "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai" and "Kal Ho Naa Ho".

Shah Rukh who wooed newcomer Anushka Sharma in 'Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi' said: "My first film with Anushka was 'Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi' and I felt that she is a good actress. She is young, sweet, bubbly, energetic and really wonderful to be with. I look forward to working with her and she has a different way of acting. I really like it. She has a robust style of acting. Very carefree and I like that a lot."

Now, the lover boy image of Shah Rukh is on hold for some time, as the dimpled-smile actor has been busy with sci-fi 'RA.One' and actioner 'Don 2'.

'RA.One', a superhero film, has been directed by Anubhav Sinha and stars Shah Rukh, Kareena Kapoor and Arjun Rampal. The film is slated for release Oct 26.

'Don 2: The Chase Continues', an action thriller starring Priyanka Chopra, will release Dec 23.

Recently, SRK said that he is looking forward to doing a soft romantic film.

Shah Rukh launches custom built movie channel for 'RA.One'

Mumbai: Superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who is leaving no stone unturned in marketing 'Ra.One', today launched a custom built movie channel on leading online video platform YouTube for his upcoming film.

The movie channel on YouTube will offer users all videos of the 'Ra.One' premiere, red carpet events planned in London, behind the scene shots, uncut footage of the star cast and Shah Rukh's thoughts.

It will also host games and give chance to users to create promos from clips, music and dialogues of the film.

"This concept goes well with my 'Ra.One' as the film isabout digital world...computer and all. So (I) launched it on a digital platform like YouTube. Besides, it will help me take the film to more people. I am thrilled and excited about it," the actor told reporters here.

The initiative will make Shah Rukh one of the first Indian celebrities to be on the Google plus platform and engage with fans.

"YouTube has been an integral platform for movie promotions in Hollywood. Since I wanted to do something that has never been done for any Indian film...so for 'Ra.One' I leveraged upon this potential of digital media," he said.

'Ra.One' movie channel is the first customised channel of its kind to be released in India for a Bollywood movie on YouTube.

Internationally, YouTube has worked with several Hollywood productions, the most recent being 'Skadoosh Kung Fu Panda 2' with Hollywood actor Jack Black, which became a hit worldwide.

"This initiative will launch a new platform in digital marketing for Bollywood films," Red Chillies Entertainment, Digital and Merchandising Shailja Gupta said.

Who dare not attend Shah Rukh Khan's midnight

ShahRukh After KKR Wining the match

Farah books Salman but not Shahrukh

Indian Bollywood actor Salman Khan (L) poses with director Farah Khan at a promotional event for the Hindi Film “Dabang” in Mumbai. (AFP)

It's icing on the cake when you have the Dabangg Salman Khan and the dimpled Deepika Padukone working together. You wouldn't like to miss the sizzle they create on-screen.

But what about the bustle created by Salman and director Farah Khan off-screen? Both have definitely toe the line; 'Your enemy's enemy is your best friend' to the letter.

We all know the Shahrukh-Salman, Shahrukh-Farah friendship going wrong. But what makes the whole episode more interesting is that in recent times Salman and Farah have been seen a lot in each other’s company, more than ever before. This has encouraged tongues wagging. Everybody is wondering about the reason of their sudden bond.

Is Farah now moving to Salman's camp permanently after Salman made a special appearance in her movie 'Tees Maar Khan'? Talks are in the B-town that Salman Khan and Deepika Padukone have been signed by Farah Khan. The two bankable stars said to be playing the lead in Farah's next directorial venture. The script is almost ready while the shooting will start next year.

Farah might have kissed and made up with Shahrukh but Salman seems far from resolving their differences.

After Salman Khan stepped into SRK's territory by becoming Farah Khan's item boy, King Khan has avenged the same by entering Sallu's camp. Shahrukh Khan is apparently signed by Salman's Dabangg director Abhinav Kashyap for his thriller. So it's a war of territory now between the Khans.

But whatever be the war about, we are already excited over this project undertaken by Farah and Salman.

Shahrukh Khan to grace '7aum Arivu' music launch!

Yes the King Khan of Bollywood cinema will be present at the audio launch ceremony of Suriya Sivakumar's '7aum Arivu' that is taking place this September 22. '7aum Arivu' features Suriya and Shruti Haasan essaying lead roles and has Abhinaya of 'Nadodigal' as one of the female leads for Suriya. Music is by Harris Jayaraj and the film is gearing up for a Diwali release.

The audio launch is scheduled to take place as a grand affair on September 22 and the coming down of Shahrukh Khan has only doubled the expectations from many on this event. Not just that Isha Sharvani will be performing live at the audio launch engaging audience with her aerobatics! Remember her 'I can't dance....' Hide & Seek advertisement with Hrithik Roshan?

The making videos of the songs of '7aum Arivu' that released recently have received favourable response in trade and fans are awe-struck with it. Now the latest is that, one of the songs, 'Oh Ringa Ringa...' will be broadcasted this evening on Radio City and Suryan FM! This is Suriya's introduction song in the film and has been shot among real life people, at real locales and with over 1000 dancers! The music rights of this biggie is bagged by Sony Music.

It maybe mentioned that SRK's 'Ra.One' will see a Diwali release as well and in Tamil and Telugu dub versions down south. His coming down now for the audio launch of another biggie is a good move we'd say. All set to welcome Shahrukh Khan to namma Chennai this September 22 at '7aum Arivu' audio launch?

Ranveer Singh inspired by Shahrukh Khan

[Ranveer Singh]
One-film-old Ranveer Singh’s progress in Bollywood has been by leaps and bounds. He says Shahrukh Khan is his inspiration.

“I love Shah Rukh (Khan). He is my inspiration. I take cues from him, be it in my acting or otherwise. Like him, I also have been bitten by the filmy bug very early in life and hence I show my antics all the time,” Ranbir is quoted as saying by a news agency.

Also, like Shahrukh, Ranbir enjoys all the attention he gets. In fact, he goes on to say that he is an attention seeker.

“I have always been this attention seeker. I do things just to get attention. I love the claps, the whistles. Whatever I do, I do for it. I love adulation of any kind,” Ranveer humbly admitted.

The actor who walked the ramp for designer duo Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna at the Blenders Pride Fashion Tour and broke out into the famous hand movement from his hit song Ainvayi Ainvayi, said that he couldn't help doing the filmy step.

“As an actor I feel compelled to do something with my fingers, my hands, my face. It is a natural instinct. I am at times Bittu (his character in Band Baaja...) in real life,” he said.

Ranbir will next be seen in the Yashraj film Ladies V/s Ricky Bahl.

How did Hrithik Roshan beat Shahrukh Khan at his game?

There is a lot of buzz about RA.One being a profitable venture even before its theatrical release, but the Roshans have managed to outdo this feat

Everyone in B-town acknowledges and appreciates the marketing genius of King Khan. For his upcoming super-ambitious home production, RA.One, SRK has charted a strategy that has ensured that his film makes money from all possible sources. He has tied up with a fast food chain, there is merchandise that will be sold; the music of the film is already a whammy of sorts, thanks to Akon’s ‘Chammak challo’ song. Shahrukh has been telling everyone that RA.One will be a benchmark as far as superhero films in Bollywood are concerned. What really surprised us about that ambitious statement is that Krrish 3 has already broken all records in its selling price, reportedly an astronomical Rs37 crore for just the satellite rights, with Rakesh Roshan selling each territory to different distributors (not selling the film outright to one corporate house) and making a pile in the bargain. All this, even before the shooting of the film has begun. This is a first for Bollywood and puts Hrithik Roshan way ahead of the Badshah of Bollywood. The Roshans get brownie points for their superhero film because they will be shooting it in 2D which will be later converted to 3D; RA.One was shot uni-dimensionally and will be converted to 3D, which is nowhere close to the real deal. For now, we are excitedly waiting for Diwali, when RA.One will finally hit the big screen. Will it live up to all the hype? We wonder….

Shahrukh Khan in Rohit Shetty’s intense love story!

After tickling funny bones with his Golmaal series, director Rohit Shetty has now set his mind on a love story. And this time he is not thinking of his good friend Ajay Devgan but wants Shahrukh Khan to do a film which is not going to be a comedy but an intense love story.

But what about his ‘Angoor’ idea! The director was keen to remake the Hrishikesh Mukherjee classic film Angoor with Shahrukh. Rohit says he has dropped the idea now. “I had the love story idea for a long time, I changed it a bit and narrated it to Shahrukh. He liked it,” Rohit tells a daily.

Shahrukh Khan and Golmaal maker Rohit Shetty - the combo sounds rocking! But does Shahrukh have time to do a film now. He is busy with Ra.One promotion plans, and then in December his Don 2 is coming. He is also on board for a Yashraj film which is to be directed by Yash Chopra, starring Katrina Kaif.

Rohit has a solution; he will start the movie next year, since he himself is busy with Bol Bachchan which will release by July 2012. Meanwhile, he would work on the script of the film.

Shahrukh Khan remembers Pataudi as friend’s friend

Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan says he had “huge attachment” to Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi who died Thursday, and remembers the Indian cricket legend as a “friend’s friend”. “The news of Pataudi sir is very saddening. He was an iconic figure. I have met him and known him very closely. Since the time I was young, I have had huge attachment to him. He was a gentleman and a friend’s friend,” Shah Rukh told reporters in Gurgaon. He was speaking on the sidelines of the Global Indian Music Awards (GIMA). Pataudi died after battling a lung infection for about a month. The former Indian captain, 70, is survived by his wife, actress Sharmila Tagore, and three children, daughters Soha and Saba and son Saif Ali Khan. “I will definitely go and meet the family,” the 45-year-old star said. “I am close to Saif and Soha.”

When East meets West: Bollywood and Hollywood intersect

When you think of Bollywood, chances are Akon isn't your first thought.

But actually, Akon - whose song "Chammak Challo" is the most popular track from the soundtrack to the upcoming film "Ra.One" - is one of many American entertainers who have tried to tap into the Bollywood market lately.

Bollywood is increasingly making its presence felt on an international level, and mixing Hollywood and Bollywood has become increasingly popular. Each side wants to tap the potential of the other's market: Bollywood has long pursued being seen as Hollywood's equal, and American entertainers want access to Bollywood's fervent, loyal and sizable audience (actor Shahrukh Khan, known internationally as the King of Bollywood, is estimated to have a fan following numbering in the billions).

Indian film, non-Indian music:

One of the easiest places to watch Bollywood's growing prominence is in music, which you'll remember I mentioned was a central part of Bollywood.

As I mentioned before, Akon has done a chart-climbing song called "Chammak Challo" (a term for a flashy, much-bejeweled girl) - in which the Senegalese-American singer even rolls out a few lines in Hindi - for the highly anticipated superhero film "Ra.One." The song has been remixed four times already, and Akon also did a track called "Criminal" for the same film.

Ludacris recently recorded English-Hindi song "Shera Di Kaum" [Community of Lions] for the upcoming film "Speedy Singhs" (which is also being released in an English-language, Canadian-produced version called "Breakaway").

Britney Spears recently released a remix of the song "I Wanna Go" featuring award-winning Indian playback singer (the person who sings the songs that actors lip-synch to in films) Sonu Nigam. On Twitter, Spears said of the remix, "Watch out Bollywood. It's Sonu and Britney."

Snoop Dogg did a special recording of the title song to the 2005 film "Singh is Kinng" with the film's star, Akshay Kumar. Kylie Minogue made a guest appearance in the 2009 film "Blue" to do a song called "Chiggy Wiggy."

Hollywood actors, Bollywood films; Bollywood stars, Hollywood films:

Despite much of Bollywood's hopes, fewer Hollywood actors than American singers have made the crossover into Indian films. Some, however, have made cameo appearances, like Sylvester Stallone, Denise Richards and Brandon Routh in 2009's "Kambakkht Ishq" [Damn Love].

Likewise, Bollywood actors seem to have had a difficult time breaking into notable Hollywood films, with some exceptions. The one you may be familiar with is actor Anil Kapoor, who won a Screen Actors Guild award playing the role of Prem Kumar in "Slumdog Millionaire." Kapoor then had a regular role in the eighth season of "24" and also has a role in the next Mission Impossible film (set to release in December).

Another notable exception is Aishwarya Rai Bachchan - better known as "the most beautiful woman in the world" - who has acted in "The Pink Panther 2," "Bride & Prejudice," "The Last Legion" and was originally tapped to play Angelina Jolie's role in "Mr. and Mrs. Smith."

Incredibly prolific - nearly 400 films since 1982 - actor Anupam Kher has also had success in small roles in Hollywood and crossover films, including "Bride & Prejudice," "The Other End of the Line," "Bend it Like Beckham" and Woody Allen's "You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger."

But the Bollywood world rejoiced recently on hearing that veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan - also Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's father-in-law - will soon be making his Hollywood debut. One of the reckoning forces of Bollywood since the 1970s, Bachchan is set to play the role of Meyer Wolfsheim in a 2012 production of "The Great Gatsby" that also stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Carey Mulligan and Tobey Maguire.

Hindi, Hinglish, English:

You may remember that I mentioned in the previous post that most Bollywood films are in Hinglish - mostly Hindi with some English thrown in. There also appears to be an increasing trend of pure English dialogue in Bollywood films, some to the point of being Bollywood-produced English-language films.

The recent film "Delhi Belly" was actually made in English and later dubbed into Hindi; both versions were released separately. The film's release sparked some interesting dialogue about the advance of English in Bollywood films. The 2010 film "My Name is Khan," about an Indian Muslim in America facing prejudice post-9/11, also featured a great deal of English dialogue and holds records as the most-widely-released Bollywood film in the United States (120 screens) and the highest-grossing Bollywood film overseas.

So, where does the future of Bollywood and Hollywood's interaction lie? If you ask me, they're only going to get closer and closer as time goes on.

Shahrukh and Ranbir for Hrithik show

Shahrukh and Ranbir for Hrithik show
‘Friends in Need are Friends indeed’, the saying perfectly goes for the Bollywood stars who are each other’s support pillars in times of need. Be it personal or professional lives, the industry friends stand by each other’s side for their buddies. And the latest example of this is Bollywood best buddies Shah Rukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan who are supporting each other in their vested interest. It is recently heard that superstars Shah Rukh Khan and Ranbir Kapoor will grace the reality dance show that has Hrithik Roshan as its main judge.

Hrithik probably invited these two industries buddies to star in the finale of the show that recently witnessed a dip in TRP’s. It is being said that due to unexpected dip in the TRP’s Hrithik was forced to add star attractions to the finale of the show that will be wrapped up before schedule.

Apart from coming on show for Hrithik, the two stars Ranbir and Shah Rukh Khan will also promote their respective films ‘Rockstar’ and ‘Ra.One’ as well.

Rajinikanth to do cameo in 'Ra.One'

Shah Rukh Khan and RajnikanthNow that Rajnikanth [ Images ] has agreed to make a guest appearance in Shah Rukh Khan's [ Images ] Ra.One, the question being asked among the two superstars' wide circle of family friends and colleagues is this: Will Rajnikanth eventually shoot as per plan in Hyderabad on October 4?

According to reliable sources, Rajnikanth's immediate family is not kicked by the idea of the mega-star lending his presence to a film that takes its inspiration of his earlier film, Endhiran/Robot.

Says a source, "Robot director Shankar had gone to Shah Rukh Khan with the script. Shah Rukh turned down the film and decided to produce and act in his own super-hero film. Shankar then made Robot with Rajnikanth. Rajni's family is not comfortable with the idea of Rajni lending his presence to a film that takes off from where Robot leaves off."

Indeed, when I contacted Rajnikanth's daughter Aishwarya to ask about his proposed cameo in Ra.One, she denied it outright, saying, "Not true."

However, Oscar-winning sound recordist Resul Pookutty, who has worked on both Robot and Ra.One, has another story to tell.

"There's a situation in Ra.One where Rajni sir's presence is required," he says. "(Art designer) Sabu Cyril and I convinced Shah Rukh to talk to Rajni sir to convince him to do the role as using a duplicate in place of Rajni sir wouldn't look nice. So Shah Rukh called and Rajni sir agreed."

Now it remains to be seen if the Tamil superstar finally shoots on October 4 or not

Vairamuthu to write songs for Shahruhk Khan film

Vairamuthu to write songs for Shahruhk Khan film
Lyricist Vairamuthu has been urged to write all the six songs in the Tamil version of Shahrukh Khan's much-ambitious movie Ra One.

Buzz is that the sci-fi thriller is to be dubbed and released in Tamil simultaneously. Shahrukh Khan has personally urged Vairamuthu to pen the songs in the film.

Says the lyricist, ' it is an honor for me. I would be writing all six songs in Tamil'.

The movie made at a cost of Rs 150 crore will be released soon and it stars Kareena Kapoor opposite Shahrukh Khan.

Why is Shahrukh Khan dancing funnily in ‘Chammak Challo’?

While Kareena Kapoor provides the oomph factor, SRK’s stiff and awkward moves in this Akon song make you wonder if the superstar has lost his dancing rhythm

Ever since I watched the video of RA.One’s Chammak Challo, the peppy number has got stuck in my head. It just refuses to let go of me. One, Vishal-Shekhar’s composition and international hip hop artist Akon’s vocals make it a fun listen and it is stimulating enough to make me get out of my chair and shake some booty. And there are four more versions to keep you hooked on! Second, watching the video of Chammak Challo is very entertaining. I was in splits watching Shahrukh Khan and Kareena Kapoor get jiggy. While the Kapoor babe grooving in the teeny-weeny choli and bright red saree, showing off her ‘no longer size zero’ figure makes men and women drool, Shahrukh seems a little funny turning knobs and prancing around in Kathakali steps. So I wondered what happened to the otherwise charismatic dancer! Of course, when it comes to dancing, SRK is no Hrithik Roshan but he isn’t anything like Sunny Deol either. King Khan has always been a pleasure to watch even if he is just boogieing. But in Chammak Challo he looks comical. Fortunately, before I could dismiss it as a side-effect of his RA.One obsession, I figured it is SRK’s character at play. Yes, Shahrukh is supposed to be a robot (G.One) in the film’s plotline! Now this explains why the superstar’s current favourite choreographer, Ganesh Hegde gave those door knob moves, stiff turns and odd steps. After this revelation Challo continues to remain my top favourite. What about you?

City bizman sends SRK legal notice demanding Rs 40 Crore

Claims the star stole his idea and launched mobile game to popularise RA.One without giving him any credit; now demands Rs 40 crore to settle matter or initiate legal action

A city-based businessman has taken on Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan and is alleging that the actor stole his idea and launched a mobile phone game to popularise the movie Ra-One, without acknowledging his contribution.

Shakir Aga served notice to Shah Rukh Khan
through Red Chillies Entertainment on Tuesday

Shakir Aga (27), who runs a hospitality business in Bangalore, served notice to SRK through Red Chillies Entertainment on Tuesday stating that further legal action would be initiated if the star did not pay him Rs 40 crore, which is apparently his share for the project estimated at around Rs 400 crore.

He said that he hit upon the idea for the game and discussed it with Lida Moghaghegh, a Persian national and a popular TV artist in US in March last year, who in turn mailed the details to Chief Finance Officer Blesson Oommen of Red Chillies Entertainment in 2010.

Communication gap
To follow up, Aga sent a detailed mail to Oommen on March 18 and the CFO replied on December 14 thanking him and assuring that he would get back at an appropriate time.

Aga again sent Oommen a reminder on May 6, but received no response, and even a series of mails, phone calls and Fax messages went unanswered.

A few months later, Oommen finally responded stating that SRK was busy and would get back to Aga shortly.
However, the last email received from Red Chillies Entertainment in October 2010 announced that SRK would be launching the phone game along with his latest movie.

Legal eagle
"This is prejudiced and SRK and company have stolen the idea from Aga without acknowledging his contribution," Aga's advocate M S Mukarram who issued legal notice said.

The advocate said that this amounts to cheating and breach of trust and that the notice warns of legal action if SRK launches his game without settling matters with Aga.

Meanwhile, Mukarram said that it is mandatory to issue legal notice before filing a case. "We will wait one month for a reply, following which we will take appropriate action accordingly," he said.

This reporter contacted Red Chillies Entertainment after several attempts and was told that they were not aware of anyone by the name of Aga and neither did they know about any such issue.

Shahrukh Khan annoyed with media queries

Shahrukh Khan annoyed with media queries

Shahrukh Khan seemed to be annoyed with media queries when he launched the music of Ra.One. Actually, one reporter asked him that one of the scenes of the film seemed copied from a German ad and Shah Rukh seemed extremely pissed as the reporter next asked how much originality can be seen in ‘Ra.One’.

First the actor said that the reporter should stop watching German ads and watch ads that he endorses and later went on to say that we as Indians should not pull our films down by saying such petty things. Instead together we should make our films stand at an international platform.

Later, the media enquire about his girlfriend Priyanka Chopra which terribly pissed him off. He said even Sanjay Dutt is not present and good that they are not, otherwise they would have to answer stupid media queries.

What’s wrong with the star who always was media friendly????

The question that made Shahrukh Khan angry!

Shahrukh Khan is often known to be cordial with the media but a question posed to him at the music launch of Ra.One irked the superstar.

Shahrukh’s jolly mood at the music launch of his dream project Ra.One was somewhat sullied by a question regarding the absence of Priyanka Chopra who has a guest appearance in the film. Priyanka and Sanjay Dutt (he too has a cameo in the film) did not attend the music launch.

Check out: Shahrukh Khan sweeps Kareena off her feet at the music launch of Ra.One

When asked why Priyanka had skipped the event, Shahrukh almost insulted the reporter in his reply.

“There's Sanjay Dutt too in the film and even he hasn't come. I am glad that Sanjay and Priyanka didn't come nahin toh unhe tumhare sawaalon se sharminda hona padta,” Shahrukh is reported to have said.

There have been instances in the past when Shahrukh Khan has stated that he’s embarrassed by some foolish questions from reporters but he often reciprocates with his characteristic humour. This time, however, he chose to be abrasive.

Ra.One: G.One squad now on Facebook

During the press release on Monday, Shahrukh Khan mentioned that Ra.One is a step ahead for Bollywood and this statement holds true for the movie across all mediums. The movie not only marks the coming of a new superhero – G.One – but we also find a special G.One Squad coming together on the popular social networking website – Facebook.

The G.One Squad is the official Facebook page – www.facebook.com/TheG.OneSquad – that represents the select community of G.One’s fans. Rajni to end sabbatical with ‘RA.One’

Rajni to end sabbatical with ‘RA.One’
Zeenews Bureau

Mumbai: It is a double whammy for Rajni and SRK fans across the world. Buzz has it that the south superstar will be making a guest appearance in Shah Rukh’s much hyped sci fi flick ‘RA.One’, due for a release this Diwali.

King Khan has already stated that the film is a tribute to Rajni’s superhero film ‘Robot’. Apparently, he has now managed to convince the legendary star to make an appearance in it.

Rajni will be seen on the big screen for the first time with ‘RA.One’ after a sabbatical caused due to his illnesses. This is going to be a super treat for all Rajni fans who have been praying for his well being.

Rajni will shoot in Hyderabad for a sequence that has been set in his honour, said a source from the crew to a daily. However Rajni’s family members have informed that Rajni will start shooting full time only from November onwards. “Rajini has recovered. He will resume full fledged shooting from November. Till then he will be on rest,” said superstar`s elder brother Satyanarayana Rao Gaekwad to a daily.

Crew members of ‘RA.One’ have revealed that Rajini will shoot for the special sequence on October 4, at Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad. “In the sequence he will deliver his super-hit dialogue from the film Bhasha,” added the source.

The scene in the film is dedicated to Rajni in order to grace his stardom and iconic image as an actor. Elaborating on the scene, a source said, “SRK who is seen fighting a gang of villains faces another threat from a gang armed with deadly weapons.

At this critical point, Rajini makes an entry, `Rajni Style` in a car. The super powered vehicle immediately sucks up all the weapons from the villains prompting SRK to ask Kareena, who that man in the car was. That`s when Rajinikanth steps out and delivers his super- hit dialogue.”

The sequence was originally meant to feature a Rajini lookalike. But SRK managed to convince the superstar to do the honours. Incidentally, RA.One will be released in Tamil and Telugu as well.

Can’t wait for this one!

Music review: SRK's RA.One

Shah Rukh Khan's RA.One has been generating curiosity ever since the beginning, making expectations soar. To cut a long story short, the album delivers big-time as composer duo Vishal-Shekhar pack a killer punch.

The film offers 14 tracks, including a few remixes and themes.

It kicks off on a superb note with the already popular number Chammak Challo. A clear winner, the song, which has Hindi, English and Tamil words in the lyrics, makes you groove with it instantly.

international popstar Akon sings in English and surprisingly well in Hindi, making Chammak Challo ride high on its novelty factor. Hamsika Iyer, who has sung for films like Raajneeti and Khoya Khoya Chand in the past, supports him beautifully, accompanying the English-Hindi vocals with a little Tamil strewn in. Primarily a dance track, Chammak Challo is here to stay.

The song also has a couple of remixes, but don't dismiss them as ordinary fare. A Punjabi Mix adds some bhangra to the beats while DJ Khushi's version, simply titled Chammak Challo Remix, is explosive. A third, international version is what his fans will hear globally--this one is pure Akon, without Hamsika to accompany him.

Then comes Dildaara, a mush melody that seems slightly out of place in this electric (and eclectic), beat-heavy disc. Sung by Shafqat Amanat Ali, it has John Lennon's song Stand by me mixed into it; the makers, who bought the rights for Lennon's iconic song, have done a commendable job with this seemingly odd combination.

A surprise for many fans, Akon shines in his second song, called Criminal, a peppy and upbeat track that also has Vishal Dadlani and Shruti Pathak behind the mike. An amalgamation of Hindi and English lyrics, Criminal is a perfect party number. Considering that Konvict was the name of Akon's debut album, and the one he remains most famous for, Criminal is one song that should sit right up there on his shelf. It also has a remixed version by DJ Amit.

Bhare naina is the soundtrack's dark horse. It will definitely make you sit up and take notice. With a sublime cold opening, the track completely turns on its head to become one helluva haunting melody. Over 200 musicians of the famous Prague Philharmonic Choir were flown in from the Czech Republic for its orchestration, which makes it a one-of-its-kind coup for the Indian film industry; Bhare naina becomes the first Indian song to be composed and recorded off shore. Nandini Srikar and Vishal-Shekhar add vocals to this near-perfect, soulful song. It's a steady, slow number that pans across genres; it's moody and it's brilliant.

Sidd Coutto's Right by your side is perhaps the only ordinary composition. Even then, it's fast-paced and peppy and will have you dancing.

Perhaps the song that defines the whole flavour of RA.One is Raftaarein. If you thought Chammak Challo is the face of the film then Raftaarein is its soul. Beginning with a classy nod to RD Burman, Vishal Dadlani ramps up your adrenaline. The RA.One theme we've been hearing in the trailer gets a 70's style treatment with some elekronica to boot. Probably meant to be a situational song, Raftaarein leaves its mark by jumping out and gobbling the album whole.

Up next is Jiya mora ghabraaye--The Chase, a fusion of rock and semi-classical. With strong arrangement and impressive vocals by Sukhwinder Singh and Vishal Dadlani, and the song will be liked by hard rock lovers. As the title suggests, its pacy and is meant to accompany a chase sequence in the film.

Three instrumental themes called Comes the light, I'm on--which is the main RA.One them--and a sad, slow Song of the end wrap up the album.

RA.One, therefore, lives up to expectations and perhaps even surpasses some. It's more than worth it, it's a winner all the way

The makers of Chammak Challo are pleased with the popularity the music of this film is garnering...

RA.One music and RA.One songs seem to be the anthem of the day. Actor Shah Rukh Khan's ambitious venture seem to have begun on a high, melodious note. The famous number - Chammak Challo - rendered by Akon is gaining much popularity and has already climbed the top of the charts.

In fact, Chammak Chalo is increasingly being played at nightclubs, and the foot-tapping beats have become a huge hit with the masses and DJs at large.

Another song that's being much applauded is 'Dildara'. Sung by Shafqat Amanat Ali, Dildara is a beautiful soft love song that can't be missed.

The music composers of this album Vishal-Shekhar are more than happy with the response RA.One is getting. "It gave us great opportunities. It was a lot of hard work and we are only glad that it's working!"

Of the 14 tracks, everyone involved with the film is finding it difficult to pick just one favourite.

Shah Rukh Khan at the music launch of RA.One profusely thanked his entire team and especially the music directors and technicians to bring to celluloid the first Indian super hero flick in 3D.

He also thanked his stunt double. "Everyone does the hard work for me. I just get the benefit. They do the stunts and all the difficult tasks. The only thing I do is dance to Chammak Challo," said SRK.

Rajinikanth and Shah Rukh together in 'Ra.One'?

New Delhi: Superstar Rajinikanth has agreed to do a cameo role in Shah Rukh Khan's much awaited film 'Ra.One'. If media reports are to be believed than Rajinikanth is going to shoot for the film on October 4, at Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad.

The music of 'Ra.One' is already released and catching up fast with the audiences. International pop singer Akon has sung for the first time in any Indian film in 'Ra.One'.

'Ra.One' relies heavily on its big star cast that boasts of Shah Rukh Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt and Priyanka Chopra. Now, superstar Rajinikanth's inclusion into the credit list will only add more charm to it.

This will be a double bonanza for Hindi film lovers, who will get to watch two superstars working together for the first time.

Shah Rukh Khan had earlier said that 'Ra.One' has a tribute for Rajinikanth.

This will also indicate the return of Rajinikanth to shooting, who has avoided shooting in recent times due to bad health.

Akon easily sang in Hindi for ‘Chammak Challo’

Here we are talking about the biggest musical hit of the year, the amazing Chammak Challo song from the film Ra.One. Created by the composer duo Vishal-Shekhar and sung by international singer Akon, the song is a delight for all frenzied fans of Bollywood music. But was it easy for Akon, who was singing in Hindi for the first time?

The Senegalese-American singer Akon, who has a huge fan following in India, was brilliant while singing Chammak Challo for Shahrukh Khan’s ‘Ra.One’. Akon had no problem voicing the Hindi lyrics, reveals composer Shekhar Ravjiani of the duo Vishal-Shekhar.

“It was really easy for Akon. When he came to the studio and we told him that he would have to sing in Hindi too, he got really excited. Once he heard the lines, he started singing fluently. It took him only three-four hours to learn...he picked up everything so well,” as Shekhar is quoted as saying.

In fact, when the leaked version of Chammak Challo went viral online, it was Akon’s singing in Hindi that left an indelible mark on everyone’s mind. The music lovers were amazed with Akon’s singing capability, and it’s him who makes the song so special.

The song Chammak Challo is undoubtedly the USP of ‘Ra.One’.

Amidst the media & invitees from across the country, King Khan unveiled the music of Ra.One in truly ‘KING’ style at Film City, Mumbai on Monday, 12th Sep. Shah Rukh Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Arjun Rampal, Vishal-Shekhar and others captivated the heart of audiences with their stellar performances. One of the many firsts that Ra.One marks is this magnum opus music launch event which will be televised and reach millions awaiting to experience it on September 18, across Star Network.

Red Chillies Entertainments’ most ambitious venture Ra.One, an Eros International presentation, has been setting benchmarks at every milestone. A film close to SRK’s heart has been generating interest for one & all. Directed by Anubhav Sinha, the film is arguably the biggest film from India with an unprecedented number of visual effects shots and some seriously jaw dropping stunts.

Ra.One has traversed from being an audacious dream to surrealism. Or am I living a dream? It was a simple story needed to be told through an uncharted terrain. People on the cart, absolute strangers with questions in their eyes. All answers lay in the story I dreamt. Destination defined, distance and degree of difficulty to be explored. Strangers looked in to each other’s eyes and slowly joined hands to take the first step. Five years and gazillion moments later the story begins to unfold. Just three words, Thank You & Enjoy” exclaimed the director Anubhav Sinha.

An inspired collaboration under the Eros Music/T-series label and under the guidance of music maestros Vishal and Shekhar, the music of the film ranges from adrenaline pumping superhero themes to feet thumping club tracks in the voice of Akon to a soulful thumri-rock fusion and ‘Dildaara’ our ode to a classic. Not to forget the beautiful orchestral productions from Prague.

“This album is one of our best ever. It’s complete, it’s innovative, it’s hooky and yet beautiful. It’s also built for the biggest film of all time. It’s grand in every respect, from the kind of songs we have on it, to the collaborations that feature on it, whether with Akon or the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra. It’s also one of those rare records that we’ve been working on, living with and listening to, for more than a year now, and the songs have only gotten better for us. We hope everyone who hears it, will love this music as much as we do” exclaimed exuberant music duo Vishal-Shekhar.

As a special treat to listeners, Ra.One’s music album under Eros Music/T-series label features the hugely popular track ‘Chammak Challo’ as well as three remixed versions of the song.

An Eros International-Red Chillies Entertainment Presentation & A Winford Production, Ra.One hits the theatres worldwide this Diwali.

If you can believe it we have even more coming for you in our exclusive report but for now have a look at some more shots from the exciting event!

Shahrukh Khan's plans of making his RA.ONE as the sole release this Diwali have been foiled with Himesh Reshammiya confirming that he would be bringing his DAMADAMM on the same weekend as well. Though from screen count perspective it won't make much difference to RA.ONE, the very fact that DAMADAMM has actually dared to step in as competition has ended up surprising quite a few.

"When it was earlier announced that Himesh Reshammiya's fifth film as an actor, DAMADAMM, would be arriving on 27th October, many didn't take that seriously since RA.ONE had already confirmed its plans for the same weekend. In fact Shahrukh had taken an early lead by showcasing the first look of the film way back during the World Cup cricket itself. Post that there were quite a few other teasers that were circulated by the makers of RA.ONE that ensured that it stayed in news," observes a trade pundit.

However DAMADAMM hung on to its promotional plans till the right moment. Now that the film's promos are being showcased full swing, it is pretty much an official announcement that Himesh has definite plans for DAMADAMM this Diwali."

When asked about the clash of DAMADAMM with RA.ONE, Himesh said that there wasn't much to read into it. He reasons, "RA.ONE is the biggest film of the year and I am sure it would be superb. However there is always a room for a good romantic comedy on Diwali. There couldn't have been a better release date. I am very confident of its music becoming a huge hit just like it has been the case with the music of BODYGUARD."

Well, as long as it benefits the industry, we look forward to that for sure.
