Shah Rukh Khan gets royal treatment from IIFA organisers

Shah Rukh Khan

There were a lot of stars at the film award function held recently in Toronto, but actor Shah Rukh Khan was given a preferential treatment above everybody else.

While every other actor was lodged in a downtown hotel in Toronto, Khan was put up at the best suite in one of the topmost hotels there.

"He was given the best suite and there was special staff posted for him both for the awards and the hotel. Shah Rukh had also flown in with his own staff and they were all lodged along with him," says a source.

There was also a special task force formed by the organisers that was supposed to look after Khan exclusively. "There was no brief for them, except to 'standby and wait for anything that he wants'.

Khanbriefly had some problem with the taps in his bathroom (he later said that he got confused between the hot and cold water taps in the shower) but overall he seemed to have enjoyed the stay," the source adds.

Though there were some reports that Khan's knee was bleeding after his performance, a staff member who was also on standby for the actor said that there was nothing as such.

"He was hurt and we had put him on cortisone injections (a kind of steroid to ease the pain) but he was not bleeding because the nature of the injury was internal (in his muscles)," the staff member said.

According to sources, the entire business section of the aircraft was also sealed off when Khan was leaving the venue. "The entire area was sealed off for him and his staff. When he was coming here, there was only Dharmendra (actor) with him. But he left alone after a brief meeting with Priyanka (actress Priyanka Chopra)," the source adds.

Chopra apparently waited for three hours to speak to Khan personally.

The Dabbang star Salman Khan is rocking nowadays with his movies now. His first home production movie ''Chiller Party'' is all set to release.

Salman khan never fears for anyone, now he has gone to the next level to promote the movie ''Chiller Party'' in the promo there is a character called Jangya in the movie , he asks why don't you wear your underwear he says Shahrukh Khan dont wear neither Hrithik too so i dont wear one. Do you wear one Salman does Amir Khan do...Salman gets puzzled..

We know the Dabbang Khan is fearless and have a cold war with Shahrukh khan but why Hrithik..

Salman Khan Digs At Shahrukh in Chillar Party!

Both Shahrukh and Salman Khan were present at the IIFA awards in Toronto last weekend, but decided to keep it sweet and stay out of each others way, however, Salman may have caused an indirect dig at SRK in his forthcoming movie, Chillar Party.

So what’s Salman up to this time? Sources explained, "Salman shot a funny promo for Chillar Party, where he is interacting with one of the characters, Jangya, who hates the concept of wearing underwear. In the video, Salman questions Jangya 'Why don't you wear underwear?' To this, Jangya replies 'Because Shahrukh Khan doesn't and Hrithik Roshan doesn't either. You should also not wear one. Does Aamir also not wear one?' The promo ends with Salman puzzled.’

Although we’re surprised at the fact the names were even mentioned in the first place, and it’s a shame Salman didn’t spare Hrithik in this case either.

Chillar Party is Salman’s first movie as a producer; the movie doesn’t star any biggies, therefore wonder if this is a cheap publicity stunt the actor is playing at to bring in the audience.

The movie is set to release 8th July, we wonder if the producer has taken a dig at any other B-town celeb? We believe Vivek Oberoi could be in the running!

Shah Rukh, Salman, Karan, Hirani praise Kareena

Wow that's we called terrific feeling! B-town powerful Kareena Kapoor is receiving praises from the mighty Khans and to add more glitz to the glory top line producer Karan Johar and the marvelous maker Raju Hirani has also added to the chorus.

Let's find out what the B-town top brigade has to say about the numero uno Kareena who has come a long way from her debut in J.P. Dutta's 'Refugee'.

Says Karan Johar, "Kareena was born to act. She is a natural; she has no craft, grammar or process attached to her acting. She is gifted with a great sense of cinema that I have seen only in Kajol other than her. Move her from the sets of Golmaal to a Jab We Met to a Chameli on the same day, and Bebo will fit into them all."

Striking a fine balance between her performance-oriented films and her commercial ones, Kareena remains the only female actor in her generation who is working with all the Khans from Aamir, Shahrukh, Salman, Saif to the youngest entrant Imran Khan.

Says Salman Khan, "Bebo is an angel with a beautiful face. She is the original desi girl."

Adds director Raju Hirani, "Kareena is a sheer joy to work with. On a couple of emotional scenes, she has really surprised me. She insisted on no rehearsals as it would affect her spontaneity. And we canned those in one take! She had worked it all out in her head."

Very impressed with her level of commitment towards the film 'Ra.One', Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan recently praised Kareena on a popular micro blogging site. SRK tweeted, "Finished the last few bits of Ra.One with Kareena. Want to thank her for being a wonderful co-star."

Yes we all agree.... Great going Kareena. Post your comments and say what you feel....

Shahrukh Khan imitates Salman Khan’s steps

First it was his back and now it is his knee. Shahrukh Khan, nursing a badly injured knee, has had to cancel his professional commitments. Despite all the anticipation and excitement around his performance in the finale of the India International Film Awards in Toronto, the organisers had to cancel Shahrukh’s jig.

However, the actor made sure that his fans were not completely disappointed. In an attempt to compensate to the organisers and his fans Shahrukh eventually did perform at the gala. However, the performance involved less dancing and more of some of the signature steps of Bollywood actors.
Surprisingly, Shahrukh even performed on the famous dance step of his rival Salman Khan. The signature dance step of Chulbul Pandey from ‘Dabanng’ had caused quite a rage in India and now Shahrukh gave the Canadians a preview. He also asked the spectators to imitate him.

Kareena Kapoor cannot promote Ra.One due to Salman Khan’s Bodyguard

Kareena Kapoor has always been spoilt for choice. However, this time the choice is particularly tough. After all it is not easy to choose between Shahrukh Khan and Salman Khan, the two biggest superstars in Bollywood.
Image: Kareena Kapoor
According to sources, Kareena Kpoor is finding it very difficult to allot dates for the promotion of Shahrukh’s production ‘Ra.One’ since she is shooting round the clock for her film ‘Bodyguard’ with Salman Khan. Recently, when Shahrukh went to Delhi to promote ‘Ra.One’ Kareena could not join him. Even the unveiling of the Akon sung dance number ‘Chammak Challo’ has been postponed due to Kareena’s absence from the promotions. This has caused much dismay to the actress as she is equally fond of the two Khans and does not want to appear preferring one over the other.
When contacted, Kareena’s spokesperson said that she will join Shahrukh in the promotional campaign as soon as she finishes shooting her scenes in ‘Bodyguard’. He also added that Kareena is very excited with the way ‘Ra.One’ has turned out.

IFA Awards 2011 winners SRK and Salman Khan

IIFA Awards 2011 winners SRK and Salman Khan

Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan have freshly conquered another event, i.e. iifa awards 2011. Once again they were the winners of these awards too. Most of the award ceremonies of this year were swept away by the two superstars.

Shahrukh Khan’s spellbinding act in MNIK fetched him best actor medal at iifa awards 2011 event. Although Salman Khan lost best actor award to SRK he left his mark strongly on the awards night as his film Dabangg bagged total six awards including the best film.

Sonakshi Sinha, Salman Khan’s muse got the best debutante award while Shahrukh Khan’s find Anushka Sharma got the best actress award.

Here are the celebrities photos who attended iifa awards 2011 at Toronto.

SRK, Salman war heats up, Priyanka Chopra singed

The Khan war seem to have taken bigger and better this time with SRK’s close friend Priyanka Chopra and Salman’s younger brother Sohail Khan in the line of fire!

It all happened when Sohail decided to make up the absence of Salman from IIFA by hosting a bash in competition to SRK’s party in the same hotel.

Apparently, Sohail made sure to invite all the who’s who of the B-town celebs who made it to IIFA, he just snubbed Priyanka Chopra by not inviting her to the party.

A source revealed that both SRK and Sohail’s party was thrown at two different but nearby suites in the same hotel which left the paparazzi running to capture the guests. But what came as a surprise to everyone was when SRK’s wife Gauri and his close pal Maheep Kapoor and Bhavna Pandey were also spotted attending Sohail's bash. However, it was PC who had no option but to cool her heels at only SRK’s bash.

The reason for PC’s exclusion from Sohail’s party is said to be because of her strained relationship with Salman after ‘Mujhse Shaadi Karoge’ in 2004. Priyanka is even said to have rubbed Soahil in wrong way when she bluntly refused to work with him in his home production ‘‘Main Aur Mrs Khanna’, the role which later went to Kareena Kapoor.

What so ever said and done, all can we say that the recent episode confirmed the news that Sohail still hasn’t forgotten the age-old episode and considers PC to be on his hit-list.

Priyanka caught between SRK and Salman

 Spicezee Bureau

Mumbai: The Khan war has just got bigger and better with SRK’s close friend Priyanka Chopra in the line of fire!

Apparently, Salman Khan’s brother Sohail Khan threw a gala bash alongside Shah Rukh Khan in the same hotel in Toronto, inviting the who’s who of Bollywood except Priyanka Chopra.

Both SRK and Sohail’s party were being held at two different suites and the paparazzi kept flying from one party to another. However, the only guest that remained present at SRK’s bash was Priyanka Chopra.

Interestingly, SRK’s wife Gauri and close friends Maheep Kapoor and Bhavna Pandey were on the Sohail guest list.

Talking to a daily, a source said, “Lekin Priyanka was still not invited. Everybody noticed that she had been left out from Sohail`s bash. We doubt that she would have been invited if Salman had attended the party.”

Dono side ko khush rakhna tha. But more people turned out for Sohail`s party,” added the source.

Salman and Priyanka had fallout immediately after ‘Mujhse Shaadi Karogi’ (2004) when the actress refused to work in Sohail Khan`s ‘Main Aur Mrs Khanna.’

Salman pokes SRK & Hrithik

This 'Dabangg' Khan is indeed quite fearless, especially when it comes to the ventures which are close to his heart. Be it friend or foe, nothing comes in between Salman Khan when he is out to grab attention.

These days, Salman is surely going out of his way to promote his first home production 'Chillar Party'. While people would have thought that all izz going well between the star and his favourite rival Shah Rukh Khan, here is something which might spark off the cold war again. Not only SRK, Sallu miyaan has also taken potshot at Hrithik Roshan.

Close sources reveal that, recently Salman shot exclusive 'funny' promos for 'Chillar Party' with where he is shown interacting with one of the characters from the film, 'Jangya' who hates the idea of wearing underwear and considers it uncool.

In the promo he questions Jangya, "Why dont u wear an underwear?" Jangya replies, "Because Shahrukh doesn't and so doesn't Hritik. He adds "You also should not wear one.... Does Aamir also not wear one?" and Salman looks puzzled.

Even though Salman doesn't feature in the film, he felt that featuring in a promo with the kids will only help in creating the right buzz for the movie and getting people to know the innocent humor of the film. Recently in another promo for the same film, the actor has given his most famous trade mark shot in which he removes his shirt much to the excitement of his fans.

'Chillar Party' hits the theaters on 8th July and Salman is all thumbs up for it!

Salman takes a dig at Shah Rukh

Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan
Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan More Pics
Salman Khan has just raised the bar of sweet revenge. The actor, infamous for his inability to forgive and forget, has devised a fun new way to get back at his archrival Shah Rukh Khan.

Hrithik has not been spared either, even though most were under the impression that the tussle between the two had been resolved.

Under his recently launched production house Salman Khan Being Human, the actor decided to co-produce the children's movie Chillar Party and use the promo as a way to take digs at SRK and Hrithik.

Our source explained, "Salman shot a funny promo for Chillar Party, where he is interacting with one of the characters, Jangya, who hates the concept of wearing underwear. In the video, Salman questions Jangya 'Why don't you wear underwear?' To this, Jangya replies 'Because Shahrukh doesn't and Hrithik doesn't either. You should also not wear one. Does Aamir also not wear one?' The promo ends with Salman puzzled."

When contacted, Vikas Bahl, co-director of the film, said, "Salman has shot this promo with Jangya, who is a filmi keeda, in the film. He cooks up filmi stories to justify why he does not wear an underwear."

Shahrukh Khan and Katrina Kaif to act together

In a major coup of sorts, Yash Chopra has managed to rope in Bollywood Badshah Shahrukh Khan and Katrina Kaif in his next production. What is more, he also plans to direct the film. It was way back in 2004 that Yashji last donned the cap of director, that was for Veer-Zara. The untitled film, not surprisingly, will be a love story also starring the flavour of the season Anushka Sharma.
Image: Katrina Kaif
This will be the first time ever that Shahrukh Khan and Katrina Kaif will star together in a film hence the expectations will be sky high. Interestingly, it has always been said that it was Salman Khan who had instructed Kat against acting in a film with Shahrukh. Though the truth will never be confirmed the fact that Katrina Kaif has signed the film only after breaking up with Salman will further fuel speculations.
In a statement, Yash Chopra said that he was unsure in the start whether to make a film or not. He was apprehensive whether he will be able to connect with the youth of today as he has in the past with films like ‘Deewar’, ‘Darr’ and ‘Dil To Pagal Hai’. Yashji expressed the hope that the audiences will again support him and cherish his new love story.

Salman Khan makes fun of Shahrukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan

Salman Khan is known for his whacky and below the belt sense of humour. The ‘Chhedi Singh me Chhed karenge’ dialogue typifies the actor’s preference for humour of the more explicit kind. Little did his rivals knew that it would be directly channelized towards them someday.
Image: Salman Khan
In the promotional video of Salman Khan Being Human production’s ‘Chillar Party’ one gets to see what the actor can do to embarrass those who have offended him in the past. In the promo, Salman has taken pot shots at Shahrukh Khan as well as Hrithik Roshan. In the video Salman asks a child character from the movie named ‘Jangya’ why he doesn’t wear underwear. Jangya, who hates wearing underwears says that he doesn’t wear them because Shahrukh and Hrithik don’t wear them. What is more, he also asks Salman whether his friend Aamir Khan wears it.
Let us hope the ‘Chillar Party’ promo is perceived as a promotional tactic and does not snowball into another silly controversy.

Sourav: Shahrukh is an elder brother

Former Kolkata Knight Rider (KKR) captain Sourav Ganguly denied all allegations of a strained relationship between him and KKR owner Shahrukh Khan.

He said, "A false story is being circulated."

Shah Rukh who is the owner of the KKR, is supposedly no longer on good terms with Sourav Ganguly after the team did not sign him up for the fourth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Sourav, who was later bought by the Pune Warriors team, brushed off all stories by saying, "Shah Rukh is like an elder brother to me."

"Kolkata Knight Riders is an emotional team for me", he added.

Why is Big B pissed with the West?

Big B is miffed over the incessant identity crisis that Indian actors fall prey to, in the western world. He disproves the idea of westerners calling Shahrukh Khan, the Brad Pitt of India or Aishwarya/Kareena, the Angelina Jolie of India.

Bachchan elaborates on the vague comparisons, “I fail to understand why actors in India despite making their mark across the globe, still are dragged in petty comparisons with the Hollywood actors. I mean, SRK has a definite individuality. What makes west call him an Indian Brad Pitt, when barely does anybody in rural India have a slightest idea of who Brad Pitt is?”

He goes on to add, “I’m also unable to comprehend that why Indian mainstream masala films are looked down upon, when they are the reflection of our society and also, fetch maximum business to the industry. Why don’t westerners take us the way we are and respect us?”

“I don’t approve of the fact that India still falls in the category of a developing nation. I mean, our economy is strong enough to be termed as a strong and so is our country. But west loves to underestimate us and will continue to,” he concludes.

US Khan: SRK detained, grilled at airport

The United States has done it again.

Actor Shah Rukh Khan [ Images ] was detained for at least two hours early Saturday morning at the Newark airport in the United States. He was reportedly released after two-hour grilling.

"I was taken aback...I was taken to a room where there were several others waiting for secondary immigration checks," a visibly upset Khan said, while speaking about the incident.

The Bollywood actor said he kept telling the authorities that he was an actor and requested them to allow him to speak to his contacts in the US, but was disallowed to use his phone.

He said the immigration officials told him since his name popped up on their computer and he needed to be questioned.

Khan said there were some immigration officials who knew him and vouched for him but they declined to entertain his plea, saying they have to follow rules.

He said after he was stopped he sent messages to his home and his secretary and Congress MP Rajiv Shukla, who informed the Indian Mission which came to his rescue.

"I have always been worried about travelling to America. I shy away from all this. I don't look like a terrorist going to do anything to the country.

"I did feel bad. I felt angry. I am glad my family wasn't there. God knows what they would have done to them," Khan said.

"I am always reluctant to come down here (US). They always do it and it's odd travelling alone. My guard wasn't given visa from India and I was feeling disturbed. They kept on asking silly and irrelevant questions like phone numbers and hotel number," Khan said.

Many Americans love SRK : US envoy

This is what the statement from the US Ambassador to India Timothy J Roemer says.

"We are trying to ascertain the facts of the case -- to understand what took place," said the Ambassador. "Shah Rukh Khan, the actor and global icon, is a very welcome guest in the United States. Many Americans love his films."

My kids don’t like all my films: Shah Rukh Khan

Actor Shah Rukh Khan has always maintained that family comes first for him. So, despite a hectic schedule, he makes sure to never skip on spending time with his children, son Aryan and daughter, Suhana.

He insists that they are unaffected by his stardom. "My family are not big fans. My kids have their lives and one of the things that theirfather does is make films. They don't like all my films. They have their own personal favourites, but I feel good when I catch them watching my old films on TV. I have never made them sit down and watch any of my films. I don't watch my films myself,"he says.

Shah Rukh has often said that his next film, Ra.One, which is a superhero film has been made for his kids.

"I make all my films for my children. Chak de India was also for my kids. It is a more emotional gesture than practical one of saying that, 'Ye picture mere bachchon ke liye hai'. I like doing films for kids, films that they can watch.

They like films and they enjoy watching them, not just mine but every other actor's. The only difference probably will be that my son will like Don 2 more than my daughter, while Ra.One will be appreciated by families," he elaborates.

So, which films of his has been approved by his kids? "I think they like Badshah, Duplicate, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Dilwale Dhulaniya Le Jayenge and Chak De India. Among the recent films, they loved Om Shanti Om and found My Name Is Khan a little serious. Now they keep asking about Ra.One.I want my little girl to like it, and have put in enough for girls to like it too," says Shah Rukh.

How would he like his kids to remember him by— a superhero or a super dad? "I am my kid's father before anything else. I can't have them thinking of me as a superhero because right after that Don 2 releases and they may just end up thinking of me as a super villain," quips Shah Rukh.
