This week in the entertainment world, “The Good Wife” star Archie Panjabi helped raise money at a New York gala for underprivileged children India, while “Slumdog Millionaire” actor Dev Patel began shooting for his latest film. On the other side of the world, Amitabh Bachchan joined the A-list “Ra.One” cast, and Bollywood said goodbye to music legend Jagjit Singh.

Alongside actor James Franco, Dev Patel began shooting fpr his latest role in the film “Cherry”. The indie flick, directed by Stephen Elliott, will tell the tale of a troubled 18-year old girl who moves to San Francisco to enter the pornography industry. Girlfriend Frieda Pinto recently starred in “Rise of the Planet of the Apes” alongside Franco as well.

Across the country, Archie Panjabi emceed the annual Pratham Gala at the Pierre Hotel in New York City. Pratham is a non-profit, Mumbai-based organization that helps educate underprivileged children in India. Panjabi, who donned a stunning Lanvin gown and Iradj Moini necklace at the gala, was recently appointed the organization’s U.S. ambassador.

Over in Bollywood, Shilpa Shetty’s new film “The Desire” is winning international praise. After becoming an official selection at the New York City International Film Festival, “The Desire” went on to win Best Narrative Feature Film at the Geneva Film Festival and Best Background Score at the New Jersey Independent South Asian Cinefest.

Speaking of hit new films, Amtiabh Bachchan will officially lend his voice to the highly anticipated “Ra.One”. Star of the superhero flick, Shahrukh Khan, has already roped in celebrities such as Kareena Kapoor, Arjun Rampal, Priyanka Chopra, and Sanjay Dutt to star in or make appearances in the film.

Finally on a sad note, Bollywood bid farewell to legendary musician Jagjit Singh after he died on Tuesday. A few celebrities tweeted their respects for the man with the golden voice and the impact he had on the music world.

Ra.One on a promotional spree!!

Shahrukh Khan is on a promotional spree. The superstar is all set to catch up with his fans from Kolkata to Delhi.

Earlier this week, Shahrukh was in Chennai for the audio launch of Ra.One in Tamil. Yesterday, Vadodara, Gujarat was graced by his presence. Very soon, SRK will visit Kolkata, Bangalore and Delhi as a part of his five city tour. Actor cum singer Meiyang Chang, will be seen accompanying the superstar on his India tour. Chang tweeted the schedule: “Hosting a 5-city promotional tour of Ra.One with SRK! Baroda 12th Oct, Bhopal 13th Oct, Kolkata 15th Oct, Bangalore 16th Oct, Delhi 18th Oct.”

Shahrukh Khan also tweeted from Vadodara, “in vadodara.wot a lovely city. my first time here…under the pretext of promotions see places i have never been to..whirlwind india tour!! had young boys & girls following me on their two wheelers waving out & screaming. please please be careful doing that i get scared for u all.”

On October 24, Shahrukh will be in Dubai for a big premiere.

Kim Kardashian to act opposite Shahrukh Khan?

If rumours are to be believed then American reality star Kim Kardashian is all set to make her Bollywood debut opposite superstar Shahrukh Khan.

Kim Kardashian who is best known for her reality TV show Keeping Up With The Kardashians is currently travelling in Dubai for the opening of her Millions of Milkshakes outlet.

Sheeraz Hasan, who has been Kim’s guide throughout her Dubai travels, has introduced Kim to the world of Bollywood.

Founder and CEO of Hollywood.tv Sheeraz Hasan told the media, I asked Kim if she would ever be interested to star in a Bollywood movie and she hasn’t said no.” Sheeraz has given a selection of ‘Shahrukh Khan’s best films’ to Kim for her to watch over the weekend and if all goes well the two will ‘work together.’

Sheeraz Hasan also revealed his plans to the media to set up a conference call next week between Kim and Shahrukh Khan.

Kim Kardashian would not be the first reality star to consider a Bollywood film role, former best friend Paris Hilton recently made a trip to India and revealed she too would consider acting in a Bollywood film.

Be it his strange typos or tiff with critics, Shahid Kapoor's twitter has become quite controversial. This time, the actor made headlines after he unfollowed Shah Rukh Khan on the social networking site.

However, Shahid claims he has no clue how it happened and laughed it off. 'What's up people .... Read the weirdest story that I had stopped following srk ... Only to realize that I actually had ...... No clue how. Well he's back on my follow list .... Was just some random thing people going loony over it !!! Haha,' he tweeted.

Interestingly, one person who is still missing from Shahid's list is Priyanka Chopra. This, despite the fact that the two are featuring in Kunal Kohli's next film.

SRK back on Shahid's Twitter, Priyanka isn't

Hours after reports of Shahid Kapoor 'unfollowing' Shah Rukh on Twitter did the rounds, the actor tweeted to clarify.

"What's up people .... Read the weirdest story that I had stopped following SRK ... Only to realize that I actually had ...... No clue how (sic)," Shahid tweeted.

"Well he's back on my follow list .... Was just some random thing people going loony over it !!! Haha .... (sic)," added the actor.

Shahid, who is very active Twitter, has distanced himself from his rumoured girlfriend and co-actor Priyanka Chopra. Apparently, SRK's growing closeness to Priyanka was the reason both were off Shahid's Twitter timeline.

Shahid, who was recently seen in his father's directorial debut Mausam, is rumoured to be dating Bipasha Basu. But nothing has come out of it.

Now, that Shahid is back to following @iamsrk, we wonder if a similar courtesy will be extended to @priyankachopra too
