The rap star Akon, who has made a second trip to India, will be celebrating his birthday in the country as he is gearing up to perform for the first time in Delhi and Bengaluru on April 16 and 17.
Excited about performing and celebrating his birthday in India, Akon stated that he’s thrilled to be sharing his music with his Indian fans and can’t think of a better birthday present.
“I’m really looking forward to sharing my music with the great fans of India. I can’t think of a better birthday present”, stated Akon.
Apart from his upcoming shows in the country, the singer also shared the details about his close friendship with Bollywood superstar Shahrukh, which supposedly grew stronger after Akon lent his voice for the actor’s superhero flick ‘Ra.One’ last year.
Speaking about SRK, Akon stated, “Shah Rukh Khan is a good friend of mine. I also had the pleasure of meeting Kareena Kapoor once and I look forward to meeting many others during my trip this time around”.
SRK decides to avoid Akon
After landing in Mumbai, Akon was very keen to meet Shahrukh. However, it’s learnt that SRK didn’t meet him since he and his wife were at Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti’s dargah in Ajmer.
However, a source from the tinsel town stated that SRK and Akon’s friendship has turned sour and the superstar is not looking forward to meeting the Pop star.
"SRK knew of Akon's India and Mumbai visit. The concert organizers had also communicated to him that Akon wants to him when in Mumbai. However, SRK couldn't buy out time for the singer”, said a source.

Akon, who had reached Mumbai in the morning, appeared with actor Suniel Shetty and his wife Mana at the press conference, on Friday.
