Fans of the Shahrukh Khan-Madhuri Dixit jodi will be excited to know that the two mega-stars will soon be reunited, albeit sadly not in real life.
So how are the popular stars coming together? It so happens that Madhuri Dixit is the latest Bollywood celebrity to have her likeness displayed at Madam Tussaud's. Her wax statue will join Shahrukh's on display on March 7.
Madhuri is slowly coming back into the limelight after leaving the industry for marriage and children. She departed the bright lights of Mumbai for a sedate life in Colorado, where her husband has a medical practice. She made a bit of a comeback with the film Aaja Nachle, which didn't do as well as she would have liked at the box office. That shouldn't discourage her, though—Aaja Nachle was a beautifully made film, and her performance in it was top-notch.
The film centered around an NRI dance teacher who returns to India after a long absence to help revive her childhood dance academy. Madhuri Dixit proved with the film that while she may be a few years older than she was when she was one of the industry's top heroines, she still has both the acting and dancing chops to put any of today's ladies to shame.
Madhuri Dixit and Shahrukh Khan are one of Bollywood's most popular jodis, or pairings, starring in the smash hit Dil To Pagal Hai and later in Devdas. Wonder if Shahrukh himself will be on hand to see one of his favorite co-stars unveil her statue?
