Mumbai, March 10 (TruthDive): Actor and producer Akshay Kumar’s forthcoming movie is Oh My God. The film is supposedly going to be loosely based on Paresh Rawal’s Hindi play ‘Krishna vs Kanhaiya’.
Akshay was supposed to play Lord Krishna in his home production Oh My God, but now he and director Ashvini Yardi are keen to rope in either Shahrukh Khan or Salman Khan to play the God in the film.
Akshay and the director, Ashvini Yardi are looking forward to get the project rolling at the earliest and want a face that will be apt to portray the role of Lord Krishna. It’s also heard that the makers have already decided to tweak the script to suit the actor who takes up the role.
Talking about Akshay’s ‘Oh My God’, a source stated, “Since Akshay will be busy with other film commitments, he and Ashvini Yardi (the director) plan to approach either SRK or Salman for the role, depending on who is available.”
Adds the source, “Till Akshay was playing the role, they were sure what they wanted. But now since that has changed the director is more than willing to change the script to suit the star. Both Salman and SRK will bring in a very different kind of personality towards the role and it only makes sense to write the dialogues accordingly.”
Shahrukh is shooting for Yashraj’s untitled film till October, and soon after will start working on Rohit Shetty’s film Chennai Express.
Salman Khan, on the other hand, has Dabangg 2 on his mind. The star will start shooting for the film next week, and it’s said that he will be busy with his other home productions after that.
So, under these circumstances, it’s yet to be seen who will play the God in Oh My God. Director Ashvini Yardi says, she is working on the cast.
The plot talks about an atheist played by Akshay Kumar who suffers losses due to an earthquake and files a case against God asking him to compensate him for the loss.
