Kolkata Knight Riders skipper Gautam Gambhir has said that there was nothing negative about his team's defeat to Mumbai Indians.
The Gambhir-led side failed to win the match, as New Zealander James Franklin played a dream innings snatching victory from the jaws of defeat to give Mumbai Indians a five-wicket victory.
The skipper of KKR, however, maintained that the team is positive even after the loss.
"First of all getting 176, then the spinners bowled well, Brett Lee bowled well the last over. We had every positive to take in this game. There is nothing to be negative about, we fielded very well, we bowled well, we batted brilliantly throughout.
"I think throughout the 20 overs and getting 176 was a fantastic effort. So, there were a lot of positives about this except the last over. I think if that would not have happened, we would have won the game, but, this is what T20 cricket is all about," said Gambhir.
Man of the Match James Franklin felt it was matter of holding their nerves in the closing stages of the match.
"The wicket played pretty well, the outfield was fast and it was a case of getting a good start and we got that. The momentum was set by Sachin and Harbhajan, I think, they both played really well.
"The asking rate was always to be kept in check, the last couple of overs it got a bit steep but most of it we kept in tens (runs) and if you got wickets in hands that's quite achievable in 20Twenty. So, we had to keep the momentum right through the innings," said Franklin.
On the other hand, Shahrukh Khan, Bollywood actor and co-owner of KKR cricket team, was confident enough after the loss and said that KKR would win the final of the tournament.
"There is only one positive that we will win the finals. It makes us harder, stronger, faster, better and we will be back here on 29th under the Howrah bridge to celebrate the fact that we won the IPL championship, Insha-Allah," said Khan.
The team in its previous game had defeated Pune Warriors by seven wickets.
The final of the IPL tourney would be played on May 28. (ANI)
