However empowered women might become in Indian society they would always remain a step behind the men. This is even true for our film industry where the men are given prominence like in the recent RA.One promos Kareena Kapoor was no were as Aishwarya was not given much importance in Robot. Would Kareena be washed away by the charishmatic influence of Shahrukh Khan as Aishwarya was in Robot?
In Rajnikanth’s movie Robot Aishwarya had to play the love interest and all that was needed of her was to look beautiful and dance in the film. Like wise it seems that Kareena Kapoor who has done some meaningful movies would play second fiddle to the character of SRK in RaOne.
One must blame the actresses for choosing films for banners and not for characters. Inspite of knowing that she would have no scope in acting in Robot, nevertheless Aishwarya did the role which proves again and again that name and fame are way ahead than quality in life of these people.
However while having this discussion one must not forget the recent releases No One Killed Jessica, Black or other women oriented movies. However the actors who are chosen for such roles never do the glamorous part of bikini clad women in Dhoom or dancing girl in Robot. Let’s just hope that Kareena get a little more in Ra One than what Aishwarya got in Robot.
