Tired of action, Shahrukh Khan now wants to get romantic!

Shahrukh Khan built up his stardom with a slew of romantic roles but has lately been keeping away from what many believe to be his forté.

Jog your memory and try to recall the last time you saw Shahrukh Khan in a full-on romantic role! Em...!...Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi perhaps. But that was almost three years ago. Since then films like Billu Barber, Dulha Mil Gaya and My Name Is Khan have not sated the movie buff who wants to see Shahrukh epitomising romance on screen. And Shahrukh’s two coming films Ra.One and Don 2 too would have him doing kick-ass action, jumping from buildings, blowing up cars...anything but what sets the female fans go weak at the knees.

So quite obviously, Shahrukh Khan is now thinking of doing a full-fledged romantic movie again. Mind you, Shahrukh isn’t for playing a young college-going dude who woos the PYTs in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai style.

The 45-year-old actor says he wants to play his age and act in a mature love story, something that Bollywood isn’t really known to churn out. Majority of fans in India idolize their favourite actors as if they were never-aging demigods, facial lines notwithstanding. But Shahrukh Khan wants to change that.

“I want to do a mature love story. Or maybe even a comedy film now,” Shahrukh says.

A comedy is something we haven’t seen Shahrukh do in a long time. Om Shanti Om was his last shot at making us laugh.
