When the first few images of Don 2 started doing the rounds of the internet, we couldn’t believe our eyes that we were actually seeing Shahrukh Khan as a prisoner, a far cry from the suave, debonair Don we know. Instead he looked rugged in stubble and shabby dreadlocks, and picked up fights with the jailbirds. For these sequences, Shahrukh Khan was actually in jail, a real prison in Malaysia. Yes, Don was locked up, but he had already masterminded a prison break. Shahrukh Khan shot in Malacca prison in Malaysia with real prisoners behind bars and a complete section of the prison block was made available to shoot. In order to avoid any hitches, special crew t-shirts were handed out to differentiate crewmembers from the prisoners as it was a high security zone. What’s more, none of the crew members were allowed to carry their mobile phones and laptops. The fight sequences in the jail were also physically taxing for Shahrukh but the actor completed the shoot perfectly with several local Malaysian artists. The movie directed by the versatile Farhan Akhtar is releasing on 23rd December 2011.
