Shahrukh Khan comes to his senses, refuses ‘Wipeout: Zor Ka Jhatka 2′

The King Khan admits he did the first season just for money

Shahrukh Khan has claimed in an interview to a daily that he will not be hosting Wipeout: Zor Ka Jhatka 2. He revealed that he did the first one to earn enough money to invest in RA.One. And what a whopping amount it was! Rs 40 crore! That’s straight from the horse’s… err… SRK’s mouth. Of course all you die-hard SRK fans will agree that his performance on the show was way below par. Shahrukh is known for his witty repartee in real life too – remember how well he hosted the Filmfare awards? All of us expected him to bring that to the show but it just didn’t happen. We got stuck with double-meaning dialogue and poor VFX. He even danced with Priyanka Chopra, but alas! He just couldn’t bring out the laughs, which the original show still manages to do. In fact, after his early TV shows Fauji and Circus, Shahrukh’s television appearances have always been received badly. There was the one season he hosted of Kaun Banega Crorepati, then his quiz show Kya Aap Panchvi Pass Se Tez Hain, and lastly, ZKJ. It’s almost as if his meteoric rise has made him too big for the small screen. So we are more than happy that he has got his head on straight and decided not to host the show’s second season. We are more interested in the other project he will shoot for next year – Yash Chopra’s directorial venture with Katrina Kaif. Now THAT is something to look forward to, right
