Zee launches Ditto TV: Will Shahrukh Khan endorse it?
The superstar who is the brand ambassador for DishTV might be approached for Ditto TV as well
Subhash Chandra Goel’s Zee TV was one of the first TV channels to be launched in India and the first Hindi general entertainment channel (GEC) in the country. The parent company, Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (earlier Zee Telefilms) has the distinction of having many innovative products in its portfolio. After successfully launching comprehensive web portal India.com, Zee has now launched Ditto TV – an ‘on the go’ television viewing experience. The venture is a tie-up between Siemens and Zee, and it will soon be catering to the UK, UAE, Australia, New Zealand and USA (in that order).
Punit Goenka, the company’s MD and CEO unveiled the mobile TV product today. While speaking to BollywoodLife, Goenka said Ditto TV is for the premium market. The company is targeting one million subscribers in the first phase and has also planned significant investments in new media and the OTT product. Zee aims to garners 10 percent of its total revenue from Ditto. And all this will be achieved with no advertising to start with. Goenka said he wants the big bucks from advertisers, the ‘dollars’ and not the ‘pennies’, which is why he would like to establish the product first.
As for the marketing of Ditto TV, will Shahrukh Khan endorse it, since he is already the face of DishTV? To this, Goenka said that they were trying to approach a few names but can’t reveal who it will be. But since Salman Khan is endorsing Network18 properties and Aamir Khan promotes Tata Sky, wethinks it’s SRK who will be offered Ditto TV. That is, if Zee considers him ‘premium’ enough as DishTV is a mass product! However, Rajiv Sulekh, Country Head, Siemens – CMT as well as Goenka were confident that since Ditto TV is an OTT (over-the-top) platform, it will not clash with the DTH offering from the Zee stable.
Ditto TV has partnered for content with Multi Screen Media (Sony Entertainment Television), TV Today Network, BBC, and Zee TV among others with 21 channels currently available and 50 in the pipeline. It features an electronic programme guide, a content recommendation engine and an elegant user interface. It allows for complete customisation in cost and content. Prices start at Rs. 49. The product will allow users to watch television programming from various channels on their cellphones, home computers, laptops or tablets on 3G, Wi-Fi, EDGE and fixed line. It is available for BlackBerry, Android and iPhone, with the Symbian platform coming in soon. Ditto is currently a live TV platform but movies on demand will begin soon.

More on Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif’s London shoot with Yash Chopra!
Bollywood royalties Yash Chopra, Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif are currently shooting a Yash Raj Film in London.
The film directed by celebrated filmmaker Yash Chopra is yet to be titled and started filming in London last week. The first day of shooting in the city began on Wednesday 22nd February with Khan and Kaif.
The filming in London continued on Thursday and started with an early call time in Shoreditch, which is in the East End of London. The actors shot for some scenes in Quaker Street, just off Brick Lane, famous for Bengali restaurants and shops.
In the meantime, a set was constructed on the Southbank outside the British Film Institute. The area, under Waterloo Bridge was cornered off and extra security was called in as the actors were mobbed by fans the night before.
However, the shoot which was supposed to start at 3 pm was delayed and started approximately two hours late which attracted more crowds.
A source told BollySpice: ”Shah Rukh and Katrina were already on the unit base. They did not delay the shoot. It was due to last-minute changes that were made to the set on request of Aditya and Yash Chopra that the filming was delayed. They also shot some scenes with extras before Katrina and Shah Rukh came on location.”
Additional security guards were hired by the producers to ensure that no pictures from the shoot would leak online. The scene that was filmed will give away some of the story of the film. Besides security guards, production crew members, talent managers, private security guards also stopped fans from taking any pictures.
Our source told us: “The scene would easily give away the story of film. Katrina’s manager, Shah Rukh’s bodyguard as well as crew members were constantly stopping people from taking pictures as one picture from another day has already gone viral on the Internet.”
BollySpice can also reveal that Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina are bonding quite well in between scenes. The actors sit together and talk when they are not shooting. Shah Rukh and Katrina are using their time on set to get to know each other and it looks like that they have become good friends, in just a few days.
In fact, Katrina was seen taking pictures on her mobile phone of Shah Rukh and he happily posed for her while smoking. The 46-year-old actor also borrowed Yash Chopra’s cap and posed for Kaif’s camera on the Soutbank. Katrina who is working with Shah Rukh for the first seemed to enjoy the company of her co-star.
Anupam Kher, who has been part of all films written by Aditya Chopra and Anushka Sharma will join this schedule of the film soon.
We will have more about the shoot of course but I can give you this …Today, Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina filmed scenes in London for which artificial snow was used. Beautiful !!!
More coming up soon so watch this space for all the exclusives!
Another schedule of the film will take place in London later this year in June. The film is slated to release on the Diwali weekend of 2012.

Should Shahrukh Khan reinvent his romantic image?
After all, he will turn a mature 47 this year and is getting less credible as a youthful hero singing songs and looking soulfully at a girl…
Shahrukh Khan is returning to romance. His last few films haven’t been typical full-fledged romance stories – be it Don 2 or RA.One or even My Name Is Khan. In fact, the last time SRK played a proper romantic hero was four years ago in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and that didn’t do as well as expected. So it came as quite a surprise when we heard that the film Shahrukh is doing with Yash Chopra is a romantic one. He has already begun shooting for it in London. He is coming back to play the quintessential romantic hero, the kind that made him the star he is today. It’s true that no one after SRK has managed to epitomise romance the way he did, but can he do it at the age of 46? Should he do it? That too with two heroines who are half his age – Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma. In the 17 years since he acted in another beautiful romance set in London, his face has turned into a well-lined mirror of his experiences that could do with some serious medical help. It would be better for the future of Botox if he shifted lanes again. Look at Salman Khan. His Ek Tha Tiger, is more action than romance from what we hear. Even Aamir Khan, the erstwhile chocolate boy hero, is doing films like Dhoom 3 and Talaash, all more suspense-oriented than romantic.
That doesn’t mean SRK too should shift only to action. It’s not as if his action films have set any box office records. But he has done very well in Swades and Chak De! India. He managed to draw in the audience without any hamming and without the help of a significant love interest. Those films are considered by many critics to be his finest works and it would be in his best interest if he keeps his age in mind and plays more appropriate characters, wethinks. If it has to be romance, let it be a May-October one. We would like to see that!

Can Katrina Kaif patch up Shahrukh and Salman Khan?
With news of Kat getting close to SRK in London trickling in, it seems this miracle just might occur
The latest buzz about Yash Chopra’s film is that its lead actors Katrina Kaif and Shahrukh Khan are getting quite friendly with each other in London. They had flown down to the British capital a couple of weeks ago to shoot for the film. All of us know how special Katrina Kaif and Salman Khan are to each other. The two friends-turned-lovers-turned-friends have never denied their close relationship. It came as quite a surprise to hear that Katrina signed a film with Salman’s rival Shahrukh Khan. That didn’t dent the friendship between Kat and Sallu, but gossip mongers are now wondering if this new buzz will do the trick. Insiders claim that when they are not required in front of the camera, Katrina and Shahrukh happily make the other strike poses and then they click photographs of each other. Their offscreen bonding continued at the suburb of Southbank, where they performed some funny antics.
SRK is known to be a charmer with all his leading ladies – whether it was Juhi Chawla, Kajol, Madhuri Dixit, Rani Mukerji or more recently, Priyanka Chopra. So we don’t doubt that the two are having a great time. (Though it makes us wonder where that left Anushka Sharma. Alone in her hotel room?) Anyway, if Kat and SRK are bonding so well, maybe she’ll get him and Sallu to become friends again. Salman has often said that he’ll never patch up with Shahrukh, but if there’s one person who can make him change his mind, it’s Katrina. Why not? The fight that caused the rift happened at her birthday party. If she makes the two Khans friends again, she would have wrought a miracle that her fans and fans of Salman and Shahrukh will thank her for, and which will make her a powerful member of the fraternity. Many filmmakers who want to cast them together will get another chance to fulfill their dreams. Kat will also start working with Aamir Khan in a few months for Dhoom 3. Getting him to patch up with SRK too would be too ambitious; we’ll be happy with just Sallu and SRK for starters. Wot say, Kat?

Katrina Kaif loving it with Shah Rukh Khan
Katrina Kaif after her shoot with Salman Khan for 'Ek Tha Tiger' flew straight from Cuba to London to join the cast and crew of Yash Chopra's untitled comeback movie. She stars opposite Shah Rukh in this romantic saga.
Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif did not waste time after they arrived in London. Within hours of landing in the city, the two actors took off to the sets.
In fact, a couple of shots were completed last week itself. And news coming in from the location is that Katrina is having a gala time with Salman Khan's friend-turned-foe Shah Rukh Khan on the sets.
The couple is shooting in the beautiful locales of Southbank, London. They are constantly seen sharing quality time with each other while in shoot or otherwise.
SRK's charm has worked on Katrina and the two are busy clicking pictures for each other and also striking a pose, reports Daily Bhaskar.
Katrina Kaif is one lady who knows how to play her cards well. She is friends with virtually every hero in Bollywood. She never had any fight with anyone nor did she cross anyone.
Most importantly she is friendly simultaneously with the two biggest star of Bollywood - Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan.
The industry is busy speculating about the storyline of Chopra’s directorial as news filters to us that Chopra hasn't revealed the climax of the movie to even the actors.
And besides the two lead actors and director Yash Chopra, producer Aditya Chopra, cinematographer Anil Mehta and costume designer Manish Malhotra were also present on the sets.
The other leading lady, Anushka Sharma is expected to join the team in London soon. The schedule is expected to last a little over a month.

Shahrukh Khan: Film India Mulai Mati
(one/ris)

A star called Shahid Kapoor
As the birthday boy returned from his week-long celebration in Goa, he found a surprise waiting for him at his doorstep
A couple of Shahid Kapoor fans recently bought a star and named it after their favourite actor. Although we assume this is perhaps the best birthday gift the actor could receive, we hope the Kapoor kid is equally delighted by the idea. It seems the certificate claiming that the actor now shares his name with a celestial body was delivered to the birthday boy’s office by his fans. Now we must say our Indian fans are a one helluva enthusiastic lot. While Hollywood pays homage to the industry by embedding stars in the sidewalk (Hollywood Walk of Fame, LA), our Indian fans simply buy one and gift wrap it with all their affection and surprise their favourite Bollywood brats. In the past, Shahrukh Khan has had the honour of being a part of this growing trend. A lunar crater was named after him in 2010.
Considering our actors have started occupying a major portion of the galaxy, we wonder if these stars will be in any mood to come down and grace us with their snooty presence any more!

Salman, SRK to come closer!
If the buzz doing the rounds is anything to go by, then Salman has apparently bought a triplex flat worth Rs. 32 crore at Bandra Bandstand and has already paid around Rs. 1.64 crore as stamp duty on the market value of the apartment.

Shahrukh Khan, watch what you say!
Considering the fact that he was responsible for the mess that was RA.One, SRK should not lament poor scripts, right?
Shahrukh Khan is currently in London, shooting for Yash Chopra’s as-yet-untitled romantic film with Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma. Naturally expectations are high of this one, but from what he has been tweeting, it seems we should not keep our hopes up. Shahrukh said on Twitter a couple of days ago, “Saddened at the demise of great movie plot lines. Wotever happened to car chases…macho one liners & sharon stone crossing her legs.” You may or may not agree that Sharon Stone’s famous pose in Basic Instinct was an example of great plot line, but what we are surprised about is that SRK made the remark at all, since he was responsible for approving RA.One’s script.
As producer of the film, Shahrukh had every say in the manner RA.One was written, yet he let the film be made in the way it was. Same was the case with Don 2,which made much more sense than RA.One did (thanks to Farhan Akhtar), though not as much as it should have. Now he is involved with the Yash Chopra film only as an actor, but if he is feeling so disheartened about scripts in general, it won’t be too far off to guess that he isn’t happy about the way the film’s story is progressing.
Really Shahrukh, you should have thought twice before tweeting such statements. What will Yashji think? Tsk tsk.

Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif unaware of the climax!
Yash Chopra's directorial venture is making a lot of noise since the time of its inception. Firstly, Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif working together came as a big shock to the audience and now the director has added some more excitement. As per reports, he is trying to keep the climax of the film under wraps, not only for the world but also for Shah Rukh Khan, Kartina Kaif and Anushka Sharma.
Apparently, the ending is known only to Yash Chopra himself and his son Aditya Chopra. SRK has also been kept away from the secret. All we have been able to find out is that, it's a love triangle set in London, where the three actors play contemporary working class characters. The treatment of love is very mature and every actor has their own challenging part to play.
Well, now it's time to wait and watch who will get SRK, will it be Katrina or Anushka.

Shahrukh Khan said: “One day she will say… leave the world!”
The ultimate king of romance, Shahrukh Khan makes women go weak in the knees with his charisma, wit and words
His verbal dexterity has won SRK millions of fans the globe over. Truly, the King Khan is a self made hero who is known for his infectious energy, his larger than life romantic films and, most of all, his amazing dialogue delivery. But when we translated the familiar lines from SRK’s popular Hindi films into English, we could not stop giggling!
Kabhi kabhi kuch jitne ke liye kuch harna bhi padta hain aur haarkar jeetne wale ko baazigar kehte hain (Film: Baazigar)
Sometimes sometimes to win something, something you lose and having lost who wins is called gambler.
Hum ek baar jite hain, ek baar marte hain, shaadi bhi ek baar hoti hai, aur pyar….ek hi baar hota hai ( Film:Kuch Kuch Hota Hai)
We live once, one time die, marriage happens one time, and love…one time only happens
Kabhi Kabhi dil jodne ke liye dil todna padta hai, aur dil tod ke jodne wale ko…. pata nahin kya kehte hain (Film: Baadshah)
Sometimes sometimes to fix the heart you have to break the heart, and the one who breaks the heart and then fixes it…don’t know what he’s called
Door gagan mein ek tara mujhko lagta hai pyaara..mujhko mera tara dede maa mujhe vo tara dede… (Film:Anjaam)

Sallu, SRK Soon to Turn Neighbours
Mumbai, Feb 27: Finally, we can hope for the cold war to end soon. B-Town's infamour rivalry between Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan may soon turn into friendship. The latest buzz is that the two may stay next door to each other in the near future. It is learnt that Sallu Bhai recently purchased an apartment costing a whooping sum of Rs 32 crore. The triplex apartment is very close to SRK's house - Mannat.
Reports state that Salman had to shell out Rs 1.64 crore as stamp duty on the market value of the flat. The apartment is currently under construction. The 28-storey building is named 'The Address' and is at Bandra Bandstand, not too far from 'Galaxy Apartments' where Salman currently resides.
Wonder what's SRK's reaction over Salman's new apartment plan. Let's hope Sallu's new home brings the duo together.

Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan to be neighbours!
The word is out that Salman Khan has bought Rs. 32 crore Triplex flat at Bandra Bandstand and the house is quite close to Shahrukh Khan’s residence Mannat. We hear that the triplex is 9763 sq ft in area and the deal was concluded by Salman Khan’s father Salim Khan.
The triplex is reportedly a part of a 28 storey building which is still under construction. So it’s not likely that Salman Khan or any other member of the Khan khandaan will move in soon, or move in at all.
Salman Khan, as his fans must already be knowing, lives with his parents in Galaxy Apartments, not far from the new property that the Khans have bought.
But coming back to the question of Shahrukh Khan’s house being just a shout away, it remains to be seen if the two Khans will live by the wisecrack: LOVE THY NEIGHBOUR.

Salman Khan moving closer to Shah Rukh Khan?
Mumbai: If there is any truth to the adage – ‘Distance makes the heart grow fonder’, then arch rivals Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan are all set to do the opposite to ensure that their bête-noir for each other is not compromised.
Reports confirm that Salman Khan has purchased Rs 32-crore triplex flat a stone throw away from ‘Mannat’ – the house which belongs to Sallu’s old foe Shah Rukh Khan.
The triplex, in an under-construction 28-storey building called The Address at Bandra Bandstand, is not far from Galaxy Apartments, where Salman currently lives with his parents Salim and Salma Khan.
Sources have also confirmed that the triplex extends across 9,763 square feet, including carpet, affiliated and parking areas with Salman Khan already having paid over Rs 1.64 crore as stamp duty on the market value of the flat worth Rs 32 crore.
Curious about how SRK’s going to react to that? Well, you got to keeping looking for this space….

SRK 'saddened' at the death of great plot lines
Mumbai: Shah Rukh Khan, who was seen in two back-to-back actioners, rues the 'demise of great movie plotlines' and also complains that his 'information highway' is not so good.
"Saddened at the demise of great movie plot lines. Wotever happened to car chases...macho one liners & sharon stone crossing her legs," tweeted SRK who featured in last year's sci-fi superhero movie 'RA.One' as well as the sleek thriller 'Don 2: The King Is Back'.
The 46-year-old is in London to shoot for Yash Raj Films next project, in which he has teamed up with Katrina Kaif.
While enjoying a lazy Sunday noon, the superstar tweeted: "My information highway sucks ...tabloids write sum crap...tv channels ticker tape it...twitter reports it to me...I get to know shit! Q.E.D."
"Close Open Details QED is an abbreviation for a Latin term which means wot needed to be proved or demonstrated has been shown....or simply put...there got it!"
His earlier posts read: "Close Open Details... i read somewhere...i went searching for truth and found facts instead. Happens to all of us…its hugely annoying and very inconvenient..
"Late work call. In bed doing nothing...nada...nought. Work has a future pay off...laziness pays off now! Eternal nothingness for half hour."

Why is Shah Rukh Khan sad?
Perhaps, by the death of great movie plot lines! Yes, you heard it right. The Badshah of Bollywood Shah Rukh Khan posted on his microblogging site: "Saddened at the demise of great movie plot lines.
Wotever happened to car chases...macho one liners & sharon stone crossing her legs?" If that was not enough, SRK further wrote, "My information highway sucks ...tabloids write sum crap...tv channels ticker tape it...twitter reports it to me...I get to know shit! Q.E.D...QED is an abbreviation for a Latin term which means wot needed to be proved or demonstrated has been shown....or simply put...there got it!" So, was he miffed or was it plain humor? That's a question only SRK has the answer to. But whatever it be, trust the Badshah to come up with this one: "Late for work..was reflecting humans r the only species which shave & get late for work..none other do..truth b told a gorilla needs it more".

The leaked photos show the lead pair filming outdoors at a central London location, as well as Khan with a guitar shooting a song sequence.
In spite of cold temperatures, Khan said that wearing extra layers would not fit into his image as a Hindi film hero.
"On a lighter note realised u can't wear warmers if u want to do romantic scenes...they come in the way of ur coolness...or is it just me???(sic)" Khan posted on Twitter.
Khan is said to have signed autographs with fans at a number of the filming sites, but declined to pose for photos in an attempt to not reveal his look in the project.
Former North London resident Kaif was seen taking photographs of her co-star smoking, as Khan's highly publicised battle to quit smoking continues.
The stars were earlier mobbed by fans as they attempted to leave one of the filming sites by car.
Yash Raj Films typically enforces a closed set when filming in India, often using the exterior grounds of their Andheri-based studio to recreate external locations.
Yash Raj regulars Anupam Kher and Anushka Sharma are expected to join the cast in the UK at a later date.
'Production 45' is scheduled to release Diwali 2012.

SRK-Kat’s London romance

Shahrukh Khan features in Berlinale closing ceremony too
view SHAHRUKH-PRIYANKA SNAPPED AT BERLIN INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL picture gallery |
The 62nd Berlin International Film Festival (Berlinale) saw SRK's name mentioned and discussed in the festival's opening ceremony with the fest director, Dieter Kosslick sending flying kisses and 'Shahrukh we love you' message from the stage. Next he was seen taking dancing lessons from SRK at the end of DON 2 screening and shaking his leg and waist with childlike abandon.
If we thought that the Shahrukh and Berlinale saga had finally come to an end after his film's pathetic performance at the German box office, we were mistaken.
CHECK OUT: SRK will not stop poking!
The picture was not over yet. How seriously SRK's DON 2 dancing lessons were taken became amply evident in the closing ceremony of Berlinale as well when the effervescent Berlinale director tried to do a coordinated duet with the hostess Anke Engelke. One of the DON 2 tunes was properly played, but Anke could not match steps with Kosslick, who did his Guru SRK proud by performing his signature 'ek haanth aage aur ek haanth peeche' move to perfection.
What the super-inventive and resourceful Mr. Kosslick should do next is to curate a special section on films from the Bollywood Dream Factory in the 63rd edition of Berlinale. This can be done on the lines of the Red Dream Factory package this year. The screenings can be supplemented by Bollywood film appreciation seminars and discussions. The Indian film industry will welcome such a move whole-heartedly and send a really good selection of films that represent Indian cinema in its full glory. Of course, DON 2 will not be in the package with its dubious lineage since it is neither Indian nor 'phoren' cinema and is more a film from the nowhere land.

Swara Bhaskar: Shahrukh Khan kissed me, made my day
Though she is four films old in Bollywood, her performance as Payal in the R Madhavan-Kangna Ranaut-starrer Tanu Weds Manu won her a Best Actor in a Supporting Role trophy
It is tough being an outsider in B-town and tougher to say ‘no’ to lucrative offers from big production houses even if the roles offered are not very significant. Swara Bhaskar is doing that and more while she hones her craft by attending acting workshops and watching films. She spoke to us about her eclectic journey, her greed as an actor and her experience at the awards ceremonies she recently attended.
How did you bag the role in Tanu Weds Manu?
I knew the casting director (Rajshekhar) and had collaborated with him earlier for a project. When they were casting for the film, I was asked to audition for the role, which I did. I didn’t hear from them for a while and then one fine day I was called to audition again for the same part and I was taken on board almost immediately. The moment I read the script, I knew the film would work. My instinct may fail when it comes to me, but for others, it works like a charm.
You always wanted to be actor?
I am trained in classical dance and had been actively participating in a prestigious Delhi theatre group. Deep down inside I knew I wanted to be an actor and it was gnawing away at me from within. I thought I would rather give it a shot now, than regret it later for not trying.
Were you flooded with offers after the movie succeeded at the BO?
Of course, but sadly everyone, including the big production houses, offered me only supporting roles, which I wasn’t keen on doing. For about six months I was saying just no to the offers coming my way, till a point where I thought I should have a caller tune that would say, ‘If you are calling me to offer a supporting role, please hang up; if not, let’s talk.’ As an actor I am greedy for doing meaty roles. Having said that, if a supporting role does offer me a challenge that I would love to take up and the exposure that comes from doing a commercial film, I would do it.
After all, the only thing an actor wants is an audience. I would not be very comfortable being the most famous person in the film. I want to break into the bigger league. I wasn’t the first choice for the role in Tanu Weds Manu, but somehow I got it. Now I am in a position to choose from the roles I get offered. In my next film, Listen Amaya, I am playing the title role and will be sharing screen-space with Farook Sheikh sir and Deepti Naval m’am. For me it’s a dream come true!
What was the experience like, working with such phenomenal actors?
As I am not a trained actor, I am learning all the time. It was an overwhelming experience working with Farook and Deepti. We had a great time shooting for the film at real locations in Delhi. Both my co-stars are legends in their own right and I was taken aback by the goodwill they still command.
Tell us about your experience at the awards ceremonies…
Having been nominated in almost all the awards and competing with such big names in my category was an award in itself. Of course it would have been embarrassing if I hadn’t won any award despite so many nominations, but am glad that I won at the Zee Cine Awards. The ceremonies were awesome and I was surprised at the energy levels of performers like Shahrukh Khan and Shahid Kapoor. Performing in front of a live audience is a big challenge as an actor (which I learned during my theatre days) and they all left people thoroughly entertained. I met the stars that I have grown up watching at the awards parties and they were all very warm and encouraging. Shahrukh Khan kissed me and made my day! Going by my experience at the awards ceremonies I can say that the industry is a nice place. Also, I have finally learned the routine of walking on the red carpet and posing for the cameras.
What are the films that you have signed?
It is a little too early to talk about them, but there are some interesting projects in the offing. There is a Telugu film in the pipeline which I will do because I will get to learn a new language and as an actor it will be an addition to my skills.
As an actor, how much are you dependent on the director?
Fully dependent! Of course there are some nuances that the actor brings into his character, but most of the credit goes to the director. A good actor can turn an average scene into an excellent one, but a bad actor can make a brilliantly written scene look bad on the screen. The same goes for the directors as well. I was stunned when I saw Divya Dutta in The Last Lear and Delhi 6. Hrithik Roshan in Jodha Akbar was superlative, especially when it came to speaking in Urdu. I also hold Amitabh Bachchan and Shahrukh Khan in the highest esteem, because their command over the language is amazing! Coming back to the question – the character that I played in Tanu Weds Manu was exactly how director Aanand L Rai wanted me to essay it.
What kind of films do you love to watch?
I am a total Bollywood film buff and am not much into world cinema. I have seen my share of those, but it doesn’t excite me like Hindi films do. My mother wants me to watch world cinema, but I prefer Amar Akbar Anthony any day!

Shahrukh Khan brings about Sahara and BCCI truce
For once, the superstar has helped end a fight rather than start one of his own!
Shahrukh Khan has been on the starting end of so many fights – hurting Juhi Chawla by not giving due credit to her brother Bobby for his work on RA.One (or so she claimed), slapping Shirish Kunder, insulting Salman Khan at Katrina Kaif’s birthday party, throwing Aishwarya Rai out of his movie Chalte Chalte – we’ve lost count. And these are just the more recent ones. However, we are sure his latest move will delight not only his fans but those of Sachin Tendulkar, Gautam Gambhir and several other cricketers. The two-week row between the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Sahara group was resolved with lots of help from Shahrukh.
You may recall how Sahara had threatened to stop sponsoring the Indian national men’s cricket team if the BCCI did not accede to its demands. Tough negotiations have been going on for the past two weeks, with bigwigs from both sides not willing to budge. That’s when Shahrukh decided to step in and motivated the two sides to look at the larger picture – the future of Indian cricket – and work towards their common goal. He urged them to continue negotiations peacefully instead of walking away for petty reasons. BCCI president N Srinivasan and Union Minister Rajiv Shukla acknowledged the actor’s contribution to the process and have thanked him publicly.
Surprisingly, Shahrukh preferred to remain in the background on this one and refused to comment on the issue when he recently unveiled the new logo of his Indian Premier League team, Kolkata Knight Riders. Instead, the team’s co-owner Juhi Chawla and he smiled and assured everyone they are still friends. We wonder what has brought about this sudden humility in the actor. Maybe he finally looked around, realised he’s quickly losing his friends in the industry and decided to do something about it. Whatever the reason, we are happy to see this side of him.

Shahrukh Khan’s dream house ‘Mannat’ got clearance from BMC
It was earlier said that SRK violated rules while constructing his house and hence the Maharashtra Coastal Zone Management Authority (MCZMA) had served a notice asking Shahrukh to explain violations committed.
A notice was served to Shahrukh by MCZMA on March 12, 2009 seeking all the permission regarding the construction of Mannat. As SRK did not submit any of the details, it was alleged that actor violated norms of CRZ (coastal regulation zone) in the construction of his bungalow.
But as per the latest reports, as Shahrukh had bought the bungalow and an adjacent vacant plot some years back, Mannat has been considered as an old building and declared as heritage

Salman Khan follows Aamir as second highest paid actor on TV-commercials, SRK stands third
After ruling the silver screen for over a decade, ‘pathans’ have been re-creating their supremacy on the small screens as well, even through TV-commercials.
Style-bhai Salman Khan, who recently signed a deal of Rs 7-crore for endorsing a food supplement, is positioned second in the league of the highest paid actors for advertisements with Aamir Khan being the leader.
The Dabangg Khan, who till a year ago charged a fee of Rs 3-4 crore for each endorsement, raised his fee for the food supplement deal, after hits like Wanted, Dabangg, Bodyguard. Prior to Khan, cricketer Yuvraj Singh was seen endorsing the product at half the price the actor is being paid.
Some brands which are already endorsed by Salman Khan are Mountain Dew, Wheel Washing Powder and Sangini Diamond Jewellery.
Mr ‘perfectionist’ Aamir Khan leads:
Aamir Khan known for being selective about brands he endorses, leads the list of highest paid actors. Khan, who charges between Rs 8-10 crore per endorsement has been associated with products like Tata Sky, Titan, Samsung, Parle and Etisalat. The actor has also appeared on theme based commercials like ‘atithi devo bhava’.
The perfectionist, as he is known to be, Khan has set his own conditions which he follows before signing for any product.
‘Badshah’ stands third:
While talking about the Khans of Bollywood, one definitely cannot miss out on the ‘king himself’ Shahrukh Khan! Like his peers, SRK is also known for charging a bomb for TV-advertisements. However, the once highest paid actor of Bollywood stands third when it comes to fee slabs for TV-commercials. SRK, who probably has endorsed maximum products than the other two Khans, charges a fee of Rs 5-6 crore for each endorsement.
SRK is the brand ambassador for a number of names like Tag Hueur, Pepsodent, Nerolac Paints, Sona Chandi Chyavanprash, Belmonte, Dish TV, Airtel, Nokia, Hyundai Santro, Videocon and ICICI Bank.

Shah Rukh, Katrina's 'leak' issues
Actor Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif are shooting for a movie with Yash Chopra. However, there is panic on the sets of the movie...
Director Yash Chopra wants to keep the look of his actors and anything to do with the film a much guarded secret. Although mobile phones are not allowed on the sets of this one and every cast and crew member is quite thoroughly checked, the Chopras are paranoid about some on-the-set pictures being leaked out.
With all the Internet leaks that have happened in the recent past, the Chopras are trying their level best to protect any such incident. However, every viral leak has only led to more popularity of every movie - be it Dhanush's Kolaveri Di, or the more recent, Bhatt's Blood Money!
It won't come as a surprise if Internet leaks are treated as marketing gimmicks. However, Aditya Chopra and his team don't find this too amusing and are are going to do everything to avoid any such 'calamity'.

Daughter questions SRK
"Daughter just reprimanded me... how can u be the HT survey youth role model if you smoke. So to all the youths out there... please don't smoke!! (sic)" tweeted Shah Rukh.
"Big reprimand for smoking from my strict little atom bomb of a daughter!!!" he added. 46-year-old King Khan is said to be a chain-smoker but has admitted smoking is the "worst habit".
Berlin 2012: Shah Rukh Khan to Make Berlin Premiere Of ‘Don 2’
It was feared the Bollywood superstar would be a no-show because of illness.
BERLIN – Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan will make the premiere of his latest actioner Don 2 at the Berlin film festival on Saturday night. Khan had to cancel his original flight to Berlin on Wednesday after coming down with a severe flu.
But pumped up on antibiotics, Khan boarded a plane on Thursday and is expected to arrive Friday in time both for the Don 2 press conference and the gala on Saturday.
Even from his sick bed, Khan kept his fans happy with regular tweets from his Twitter account. "My daughter is trying to cure me by showing me Glee," quipped one. Before boarding his flight to Berlin he tweeted his "Don's do's & don'ts" for his reps at the Berlinale. Including: "1. Have the Don tattoo on at all times" and "don't dance with ur hands above ur head."
Tickets for the Don 2 premiere in Berlin Sunday night sold out within minutes. Thousands of Khan's German fans are expected to brave the cold to catch a glimpse of their star at the red carpet gala.

(blc/aia)

Did you know Shahrukh Khan was poor in English?
We discovered this little known fact from a photograph of the superstar’s admission form that has been doing the rounds in the virtual world
The next time you are reprimanded for your English reading or writing skills, say you are talking to the future Shahrukh Khan! Want to know why we are saying this? Well, we stumbled upon a photograph of the superstar’s admission form, applying to the Bachelor of Arts course at Hansraj College, Delhi’s well-known educational institute. And we thought it was quite ironical that SRK, who is known to have a way with words and is said to be an avid reader, was actually just about average in English back in school. While he scored highest in Electronics, which apparently was one of his favourite subjects, he scored a meagre 51 out of 100 in English, in his 12th grade exams. Isn’t that shocking? Especially since, anyone who has interacted with him or has been to press conferences held by the Badshah of Bollywood can vouch that his poor English skills have not been obvious even once.
SRK is not only an erudite speaker but articulate, funny, sometimes sarcastic and always entertaining. Was his communicative finesse an inherent quality that got honed over the years or a skill he acquired at the illustrious Jamia Millia Islamia where he studied mass communication? We are not sure. What we do know is that this superstar has the habit of achieving whatever he sets his heart on. So all you people out there who suck at English, please take a cue from the King Khan!

Ranbir Kapoor scores over Shah Rukh Khan
Ranbir Kapoor has sealed his place in Bollywood with his super hit movie 'Rockstar'. This upcoming superstar has swept all the award functions for the year 2011 leaving the other stars empty handed including, Shah Rukh Khan.
Ranbir won the Filmfare Best Actor award for 'Rockstar' toppling Shah Rukh who was also nominated for the category for his movie 'Don 2'.
While receiving the award Ranbir addressed SRK and said though this was his fourth Filmfare award he wishes to collect fourteen of them just like Shah Rukh.
Looks like Ranbir is snatching much more than just best actor awards from SRK this year.
'Rockstar' Ranbir Kapoor is now replacing Shah Rukh in the movie 'Two States'.
This versatile Kapoor boy is now to star in the much-talked about project produced by Sajid Nadiadwala.
The film, which is an adaptation of author Chetan Bhagat's bestseller of same title, will be co-produced by Karan Johar.
Earlier, director Vishal Bhardwaj was supposed to work in the project and he wanted Shah Rukh to take on the lead role, but due to some reason Vishal put the movie on hold and Karan stepped in, to complete the project with Nadiawala.
The news of Ranbir replacing Shah Rukh comes right from the horse’s mouth - Sajid Nadiadwala.
While Sajid Nadiadwala confirmed the news exclusively on Zoom, Karan Johar is still keeping the news close to his heart.
