Shah Rukh to play Nehru in a Hollywood movie?

If everything capitalises here, we might see the biggest casting coup in the recent history. Shah Rukh Khan, if reports are to be believed, is being considered to play Jawaharlal Nehru in a Hollywood movie. If such a thing does happen, it will be a cinema lover’s wet dream. Hollywood director Bruce Beresford is planning an ambitious movie on the life of our country’s supreme woman leader Indira Gandhi, and he wants to cast the king of romance as her father Nehru.

Bruce Beresford, who has directed movies like Oscar-winning ‘Driving Miss Daisy’ and the action ‘Double Jeopardy’, is in India currently and has plans to direct his project here. At a recent party, Beresford showcased a powerpoint presentation there which had morphed faces of many Hollywood and Bollywood actors as Indian politicians to be incorporated into the movie. Amongst those supposed to play vital characters in the movie are Shah Rukh Khan and Charlize Theron.

Well, if everything goes according to plan, we will see SRK in a completely new avatar, and that too in a Hollywood movie. Fingers crossed.
